I've known Gerald K. Smith since I was a law clerk for Bankruptcy Judge Maggiore and Chief Bankruptcy Judge Caldwell. He was so well thought of at that time, nearly 30 years ago, that we law clerks all sneaked into Court to watch him on a day he was scheduled to argue. I have had occasion to read his pleadings in multiple cases, and they were uniformly excellent. His reputation in the community is superb; in fact, it is second to none. I note that today, Mr. Smith has a good rating, but seriously, if the highest rating possible for a bankruptcy attorney in Arizona is a 10, then Mr. Smith deserves a 15.
