About me

I was admitted to practice law in the State of California in 1988 and in the State of Utah in 1993. Although I was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, I spent my early years in Southeastern Idaho, workin after school growing potatoes and on a horse herding cattle. I graduated from Shelley High School and later graduated from Idaho State University (B.S. Biology). I then moved to California and became a successful entrepreneur and business owner and gained years of practical experience in commercial real estate, retail and manufacturing concerns employing over 200 people. I received my legal education at Western State University, Fullerton, California, graduating in 1987 (J.D. with Scholastic Merit) and served as an Editorial Board Member of the Western State University Law Review.  After developing my law practice in Irvine, California, my wife (of 43 years) and I, together with our six children, moved to Southern Utah. I opened a law practice in Hurricane, Utah where I became actively involved in civic affairs and served five years as a Planning Commissioner including one year as Vice- Chairman of the Hurricane City, Utah Planning Commission. I also served as an adjunct faculty member for Dixie State University, St. George, Utah where I taught Business Law.  I am admitted to the United States Supreme Court, The United States Court of Claims, District Courts in the Districts of Utah, Central and Southern California. I am also admitted to all courts in the State of California (since 1988) and all courts in the State of Utah (since 1993). I remain an active member of the Utah State Bar, the State Bar of California and the Southern Utah Bar Association.
