Nathan D. Alder

also known as Nate Alder

About Me

My work is helping clients solve complicated problems. Individuals and corporations hire me to investigate and represent them on significant and potentially devastating matters, often in crisis or on an emergency basis.

I handle a broad range of matters, including catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, insurance matters, business disputes, corporate negotiations, commercial litigation, product liability suits, and professional, administrative and regulatory crises, among others. I have been recognized for my work in mediation, arbitration and trial. My work has expanded beyond Utah to serve clients on a regional and national basis.

I appreciate the recognition of my peers, including the highest rating, AV Preeminent, from Martindale-Hubbell; being honored as one of the "Top 25" lawyers in Salt Lake City, and as one of the "Top 100" lawyers in our five-state Intermountain region (Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Utah, Wyoming -- Super Lawyers/Thomson Reuters); as well as "Legal Elite" by Utah Business magazine (since 2005). In 2012, Utah Business recognized me as one of the top mediators in the state.

I have been afforded opportunities to serve and lead.  I am president of the National Caucus of State Bar Associations, serve on the Executive Council of the National Conference of Bar Presidents, and in the American Bar Association's governing assembly, the House of Delegates.  Governor Herbert has re-appointed me to Utah's Judicial Performance Evaluation Commission.  I have served on two Utah Supreme Court advisory committees, an ABA standing committee, and several other industry, professional, nonprofit, university and community boards and committees. I feel privileged to have recently served as president of the Western States Bar Conference, as chair of the Personal Injury Section of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society, and as president of the Utah State Bar, as well as chair of the nonprofit Utah Council on Conflict Resolution.

Our firm, Christensen & Jensen, is talented, energetic and devoted to clients. Since 1949 we have successfully served clients throughout Utah and other states. We have a rich tradition of trial and appellate work, complex cases and dispute resolution. It is an honor to be a shareholder at this firm.
