    Hired Attorney

I walked in Isabel's office completely hopeless and pretty desperate. I was in an extremely delicate situation and had already worked with two other immigration lawyers and have had consultations with at least three more and no one had been able to offer me any kind of help. After just a few minutes into my consultation she had already explained to me all my options and had put together a plan which she later executed flawlessly fixing permanently and completely that situation.
I am honestly impressed with the level of knowledge and professionalism of Ms. Cueva and Mr. Naugle as well; they are amazing professionals that really care about finding a solution through knowledge and dedication. They made me feel welcome from the first phone call and kept in touch with me throughout all the process, guiding me precisely step by step, making me feel very comfortable and protected. After my experience of more than 2 years dealing with immigration issues, I confidently can say that Isabel and mark are the best immigration attorneys in the state of Utah.

    Consulted Attorney

I took free consultation on phone. She was very nice and polite and was not in hurry to cut the call because that was a free consultation. Other attorneys try to run away from free consultations although they mentioned they do provide.

We worked with Ms. Cueva regarding an immigration petition. Before deciding to work with her, we contacted several different attorneys and had a few consultations. None of the other lawyers we contacted or met with gave us as much personal attention or answered our questions as clearly as did Ms. Cueva, and we weren't yet her clients! Deciding to retain her services was the best decision we could have made and we have no regrets. She answered all our questions about our specific case, was knowledgeable and confident, and always kept us up to date. If we had a question, she responded quickly to communications. Her prices were very reasonable, lower even than most of the other lawyers we contacted for the same service. We felt that she went above and beyond to ensure our case was well put together and that is was delivered timely to USCIS--she took it personally to our local field office! We would recommend Ms. Cueva to anyone for their immigration matter. I really cannot say how much we appreciated her professionalism, her knowledge, and her reassurance.

I approached Maria for Green card consultation. She responded to my queries promptly and thoroughly. Unfortunately, due to circumstances I was not able to work with her. But, I would definitely consider Maria in future for immigration related issues.

I was so lucky to have Lawyer Isabel Cueva help me through my adjustment of immigration status.
I was so confused and afraid of missing something or filing the wrong forms. She reassured me every step of the way. She explained the process I was about to go through. I put all my trust on her and her valuable knowledge on the immigration systems and procedures.

Not only she helped me, but also she helped to file for my parents petitions to change their statuses after I became a Citizen. Again, petitioning my parents was a scary process because I didn't want anything to go wrong. But having Ms. Cueva made me feel at ease during the whole process once again.

She is very patient, passionate and caring about the work she does and commits to you 100%. She was so attentive, precise and careful with the details on my applications. I felt she was genuinely looking out for me and my family's best interests, so we could remain and have a better life in this country.

I strongly recommend her because she is an excellent lawyer and a whole hearted compassionate human being.

    Very grateful,

Les recomiendo a la Abogada Isabel Cueva, sus servicios son excelentes.

Ms. Cueva is a consummate professional who is very experienced in immigration. She was able to direct us flawlessly through our immigration procedure. She provided an honest and direct assessment of our case.

What impressed me most was how disarming and welcoming this law office is, they are focused on client education and are willing to navigate immigration with you step by step.

The office also provides services in Spanish, it is impressive how flawlessly Ms. Cueva can go from one language to another. It is clear that when you hire Ms. Cueva you hire an advocate as well as a lawyer and this is a bargain.

Immigration can be a confusing and frustrating process, unless you have Isabel, then it is a breeze.

I would recommend her to anyone going through the process, she is peace of mind, and you can't put a price on that!

Ms Cueva handled my son's immigration case. I had met many attorneys before hiring Ms Cueva and they all gave me little hope. Even though the case was extremely complex, Ms Cueva took the time hear us out and gave us her honest opinion that while difficult, we had a chance at fixing his immigration status. She told us it would not be easy, and that for us to have a chance of success we would need tone fully involved with the case. We appreciated how honest and direct she was, and could also tell she was compassionate. My wife was very emotional throughout the process and Ms Cueva was always very kind and patient. All of our efforts paid off when my sons case was approved. I cannot thank you enough for keeping our family together. We appreciate everything you did for us and cannot recommend you enough. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

We signed on with Ms. Cueva at Highbee & Associates to handle our same sex marriage based greencard. I am a US citizen and my husband is Mexican. Everything started off pretty well, we were kept informed and information was flowing between us and her team. Halfway through our case Isabel Cueva left the firm along with her team leaving us and I'm sure a lot of other clients uncertain. It was only her firm that gave a letter explaining that she had left and so had two other women Jacqueline Shi and Irene Nunez who were handling our case. We were told this was going to be pretty basic and easy. I guess they were too anxious to get to their next job or open their firm or whatever the case may be but instead of receiving good news this last Friday we were informed that in the handling of the paperwork being passed from attorney to attorney to paralegal etc. A fundamental mistake had been made on our I-601A form from the previous team that had supposedly checked everything thoroughly. Our petition was denied, not because of us but because of a mistake they had made in the paperwork. I just see it as a very irresponsible move leave a firm and not communicate to your clients of make sure that everything is in place, we are very stressed and this has not been a great experience to say the least. The whole reason of hiring lawyers is to avoid these types of headaches and let's just say that I couldn't saved myself $4,000+ if I had gone a different route.

Maria Isabel Cueva’s response: “Dear James, When I left my previous firm this was one of my greatest fears, that my past clients would not be well represented in my absence. When I found out I was leaving the firm, I did everything in my power to make sure of a smooth transition. Even though time did not permit me to call every one of my clients to personally let them know I was leaving, I did go through each and every case to make sure I left everything in good standing. I was the supervising attorney assigned to your case, and Ms. Shi was the attorney assigned to work on your actual case. I did review your file before I left and everything looked as it should. I was not aware that Ms. Shi would also leave the firm shortly after I did. From what I understand, your cases was left with Ms. Hernandez. What I can tell you is that a denial of an I-601A is not given because of a mere mistake on the forms, but rather, because there was not enough evidence submitted to demonstrate the U.S. citizen spouse would suffer extreme hardship. An approval is strongly tied to the supporting documents submitted: a well written psychological evaluation, medical documents, a well written statement from both the U.S. citizen spouse and the intending immigrant, letters of support, financial statements, etc. I hope you understand it is easy for a firm or attorney to place blame on someone who is no longer there who cannot defend themselves. I am very passionate about doing a stand-up job for all of my clients. Although I did not want to leave my clients in the middle of their case, unfortunately, I had no choice in the matter. If your attorney relationship has ended with H&A, I invite you to email me personally and I would be happy to review the denial letter and see how I can help. Again, I am truly sorry about the outcome of your case, and how your case was handled after I left the firm.”
