I have had a past I'm not going to lie. I was ashamed and wanted to hide it until this last screw up! I got a DUI and had a history of a lot of sh** but I wanted a new start, after getting my DUI and the history I already had one of my buddies told me to call Rocky Mountain defenders and ask for Kevin Vanderwerff! I did and he saved my life it sound a bit over the top but with my past that DUI could have really screwed the rest of my life and future with ever being the father I needed to be to my baby girl(due in Feb) when Kevin came to court he knew my case and knew the law and how to make the judge see I need a chance to prove my self with out the weight of my past I was trying to change!! Needless to say he is a great guy who is very involved in your case and knows how to be aggressive to stand up for your rights! Rights I never knew I had!! My only regret was not getting him earlier for the cases in my past, The one was still in good time frame that we were able to still take care of thank you Kevin Vanderwerf and Rocky Mountain defenders you saved my a** and my daughter a good life and dad!!
I was arrested and my friend called this firm. Kevin got my bail reduced at my initial appearance and I was able to get out. I then hired him to handle the rest of my case.
Kevin was very competent with my case. I could tell he had done this a lot. He dealt with the prosecutor and worked out a plea deal for me. We had to go to court a few times, but my charges were lowered in the plea deal.
If I could have given no stars I would. During a very terrible period in my life directly after the death of my longtime girlfriend, I got into some trouble while visiting Utah. Initially it seemed like Kevin was doing a good job, and he recommended I move home to Maine. Towards the end of the deal process he missed a court appearance, and while he managed to smooth that over and finalize the deal, which seemed like a fair deal, it was increasingly a hassle to get any kind of information or help from him. At which point he handed my care to Adam, and Jason. Halfway through completing my probation as I was trying to meet all the other terms that were required I inquired about the deadlines, to which they assured me, I had ample time to complete, despite the court officer telling me different. I believed them. So after faxing them the paperwork proof of me meeting my conditions, and later, with a month left to deadline, I was attempting to satisfy the last condition of a seminar I was supposed to visit but wasn't offered within 150 miles of where I live, but is offered online and acceptable in every other county in Utah except for salt lake county, and called them again to ask if they could find out if a waiver could be had to allow acceptance of the online version. Adam and Jason assured me they would find out. A week passed and they didn't contact me. They wouldn't take my calls. I began frantically trying to contact the courts, who refused me information on the basis of me having an attorney, but I did manage to find out that the last condition didn't matter, because they had either lied or been negligent 6 months previous when they contradicted the court officer's information. So now, not only is my probation screwed up, but I'll get slammed with a maximum penalty for charges held back, and have a bench warrant for my arrest. And to this day nobody at that office will take my calls, and if I do call from a number they don't know, they'll just say anything to get off the phone with me and never answer again.
I blew under the legal limit and still got a DUI. Avoid Utah! I live in Minnesota so this guy talked to the judge and I didn't come back to that piece of crap state. I am pissed that i had to pay for a lwyer but at least i got a good one for my money. This guy was pretty chill and got my cased dismissed. I will tell all my buds to stay away from here but get Kevin if you get illeagally arrested like me.
First I spoke to Dave, then Kevin was my lawyer. At court I felt like he did this work for a while because he knew it good, I did not do a trial.
I called rocky mountain defenders law firm and then Kevin showed up at court. He was good, you could tell he had a lot of experience. We had to go back to court again but it was worth it because I got a good end to my case.
Kevin was very savvy, knew the laws and was aggressive with my case. When he came to court he was familiar with everyone and knew what to do to get me a great deal. He kept my record clean with the deal he got me.
This guy had done a ton of DUI's, so he knew what he was doing. Be careful out there and get someone with experience like this guy.
This lawyer knew the system. He was able to talk to the prosecutor and got me a deal that if I don't get in anymore trouble then my record stays clean. This was the first time I have been in this situation. This guy helped me.
