I was referred to Steve for my DUI by a friend who had been charged with a domestic violence case, which Steve handled. Everything she said about him was spot on. He worked hard on my case, got a result that exceeded my expectation, but more than that, he was always there to listen, and talk to, even when I just wanted to vent about my situation. He didn't hurry me along, and I always felt that he had time for me and genuinely cared. We had one office appointment, that lasted for an hour, and most of it was spent talking about school and my job, and finding out about me. I said at one point, "this doesn't matter in my case, right?" and he responded by telling me that it didn't, but he wanted to find out about my career and school so that he was sure our goals alligned and there wasn't an issue he didn't know about, like what I want to do in the future. I paid a flat fee, so its not like he was trying to bilk me for fees, and it was reassuring to know he cared. I just don't think you find that kind of lawyer everyday. I feel like there's a reason clients refer cases to him, and I'm very glad I found him.
Steve did everything I could have asked and more. The outcome of my case was better then I could have hoped for, because he just kept fighting. We'd go to court and he'd say "don't take this yet, we can do better", and he did. It would have been really easy for him to tell me to take an offer as soon as the DA got rid of the jail, but he didn't. I'm so thankful I found him.
I was charged with a DUI while driving home from a study group, where I had a glass of wine. The cop said he smelled alcohol and wanted me to do an alcohol test. I was obviously upset, and the cop said I wasn't cooperating, so gave me a refusal. I met with 6 attorneys over two days. After meeting Steve, I knew instantly that he was who I should hire. First of all, and this may be trivial, but when I would mention to other attorneys who I was meeting with, they all bad mouthed each other. Except for Steve, it was clear he was confident, and not insecure. I know that's not a big deal, but it was something I picked up on. After I hired Steve, his investigator contacted everyone at my study group, who all confirmed I had only had one glass of wine. Steve won my DMV hearing, so I kept my license, and happily, my case was dismissed yesterday. Steve is kind and patient, but more than anything, he really knows what he's doing and is very smart. I would really recommend Steve. He did a great job for me.
I would highly recommend Steve. He handled a DV case for me and it was dismissed within 2 weeks of hiring him. Nothing more needs to be said
Steve is the kind of attorney who you want on your side. I was charged with a DUI while sitting in my car on the side of the road with the keys in my pocket and the engine off. At one point during my case the DA offered me a deferred sentence. Steve knew I was seriously considering taking the offer, so we sat down to discuss it. Steve heard me out and said, he understood, but he felt like I should go to trial. We did and I won. It would have been much easier to tell me to take the offer and be done, but he didn't. He put the work into my case to get me the best outcome he could. He didn't charge me more to go to trial either.
Steve is a good attorney. I am still employed at my job, I kept my license, and my case was dismissed. There's really not much more I could ask for.
I hired Steve to defend my son when he was charged with distribution of LSD to an undercover police officer. My son had never been in trouble, we had no idea what to do. Steve held our hand the whole time. He was constantly updating us and always made himself available. Phone calls were returned the same day, and the result of the case was that its completely off my sons record.
I hired Steve after I was charged with a felony for identity theft. I met with all of the attorneys rated a "10" on Avvo, and just from my first appointment I felt like Steve was the only one who deserved it. He didn't sugar coat things or try and scare me into hiring him, rather, he was straight forward and told me the problems I was facing, as well as the good things about my case. He laid out a very specific plan of what he would do, and after I hired him, he followed that plan. He did everything he told me he would. He also got my case dismissed and then my record sealed. I could not be more pleased with his work. Highly recommended.
I never thought I would be in the position where I would need an attorney, but I made some mistakes and found myself interviewing everyone in Colorado Springs. I'm in the Army, and a DUI conviction would literally cost me my career. Another soldier recommended I call Steve, and I'm so thankful I did. He won my license case, and the court results were so much better than I could have imagined. I ended up with a 4 point speeding conviction after being charged with a DUI. I recommend Steve to anyone looking for an attorney.
I would emphatically recommend Steve. After meeting with a total of 7 attorneys Steve was hands down the best attorney in town. At the first appointment, he went over a number of different scenarios, explained the entire process, and put my fears to rest. The appointment wasn't rushed, he spent over an hour with me. He was also the last attorney I met with, so I went in thinking I had already been told everything about a dui charge. I learned more from meeting with him then all 6 other lawyers together. I had never been charged with a crime and was terrified. After leaving his office I felt so much better. One attorney wanted to charge me $9000.00, but just wanted to talk about my college football team, then tell me I was probably going to jail. Steve ended up getting me a deferred sentence, which means I won't have a conviction on my record. I didn't realize that I had gotten such a good outcome until we went to sentencing and the judge was apprehensive to accept the plea because he said that with a .198 BAC, he normally wouldn't accept that offer and that my attorney had done an exceptional job. Steve talked the judge into accepting it. Throughout the process my calls were immediately returned, he kept me informed and we met regularly. I would never hire anyone else. Call him first, don't waste your time with the other guys.
