Jessica Hughes is an associate family law attorney at Black & Graham, LLC. Jessica's primary focus is to assist clients with family law matters including divorce, allocation of parental responsibilities, parenting time & child support modification/enforcement.
Prior to joining Black & Graham, LLC, Jessica worked as an associate attorney at another Colorado Springs based firm. There, Jessica focused her knowledge & skill on domestic relations cases. She worked closely & diligently with her clients to resolve their legal issues, allowing them to return their focus to what is most important - their family. Jessica brings that same knowledge & energy to our firm, smoothly assisting her clients through turbulent matters.
Jessica is a native of Colorado Springs, CO. She began her career in law shortly after high school, working as a paralegal for a local criminal defense firm. During her time as a paralegal, Jessica pursued an Associate's Degree in Applied Sciences focusing specifically in Paralegal studies, at Pikes Peak Community College. She continued her education at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science in December 2007. In 2008, Jessica attended New England's School of Law in Boston, Massachusetts.
Upon graduating law school Jessica returned to Colorado and passed her bar exam in October 2012. Since her return to Colorado Jessica joined the faculty of Pikes Peak Community College & SUNY: Canton as an adjunct professor for the legal studies program. She has taught courses in Mediation, Family Law, Criminal Defense & Legal Research/Writing. Additionally, Jessica served as a law clerk for the Honorable District Court Judge David L. Shakes with the 4th Judicial District. In this position Jessica assisted Judge Shakes with research & drafting decisions on criminal defense issues regarding jury voir dire, Batson challenges, rules of evidence, and the juvenile direct file statute.
In Jessica's free time, she enjoys a good book with a strong cup of coffee, an occasional dance class & rousing game of pickle ball.

I endorse this lawyer. I first encountered Jessica as opposing counsel on a case, and was impressed with her tenaciousness and knowledge of the law. About a year later, when my firm had an opening, I encouraged her to apply, and we ended up hiring her. We do not regret that decision - she is hard-working, dedicated to her clients, and has a string of successes in the courtroom.

Jessica Hughes is astoundingly smart and will advise her clients of every option available. If there is an attorney in the Colorado Springs community who can keep a family law case from turning into an ugly and exhausting hearing, it is Ms. Hughes. I endorse Ms. Hughes to any client looking for calm in the storm of divorce.
