I recently had my first DUI, and a bad one at that. I was skeptical if a lawyer would even be helpful due to my high BAC, however, now I see just home much James Newby did for me. He was honest up front and told me this was going to be tough. With his encouragement and support I sought inpatient treatment in order to help my case and more importantly, myself. I could tell when talking to James, he was completely honest and sincere with his concerns and guided me all the way. In the end the judge suspended the $600 traffic fine, waived all jail time, and waived therapy. I walked away extremely lucky with only court fees, one year of unsupervised probation, and 48 hours of community service. I would and will highly recommend Mr. Newby to anyone in need of an attorney as his professionalism and true sincerity and care for his clients makes him one of a kind. I could not have hoped for a better outcome in respect to what I could have been facing.
Mr Newby was a wonderful lawyer to my husband who went threw a big court case a few months ago He is very knowledgable and cares about his clients! Thank you for everything James!
My boyfriend had an outstanding warrant in Colorado for failure to complete a series of classes he'd been given as a deferred sentence. He was extradited from NY to CO and so began a very long and drawn out process of transferring his classes from CO to NY and an interstate compact agreement. James was with us every step of the way and worked to get my boyfriend back home quickly as well as mediated the situation between NY and CO to ensure successful completion and compliance with the Colorado court system. We were able to negotiate the best possible outcome with James' help and could not have done it without him. I'm happy to report the case is closed and all obligations have been satisfied.
Very thorough! Spent ample time getting all the facts about the accident and contacted the witness. Because of James Newby's excellent knowledge of the law and the ability to apply it, the judge threw the case out after he cross examined the policeman.
P.S. Mr. Newby was referred to me by my well known business attorney.
It's difficult to get an idea of who someone is without meeting them face to face, and considering I hired James from out of state, I was a bit hesitant at first. However, after talking to half a dozen different lawyers on the phone, I chose James to represent me, and am glad I did.
When it feels like the weight of the world is on your shoulders, the last thing you need is an attorney that is slow to return correspondence, incompetent, greedy, or outright dishonest. Thankfully, James is nothing of that sort.
James alleviates all of the pressures, anxieties, and frustrations of going though legal trouble. He is honest, direct, knowledgeable, and highly motivated - as the case developed or information was required, James didn't even hesitate to correspond. If you've ever contracted with any type of attorney in the past, you know what I mean when I say they're difficult to get a hold of. James is quite the opposite. As soon as he had information, he disseminated it and if information was requested, he immediately asked for it.
All in all, he is a great person to work with, easy to talk to, and will truly represent YOU.
Thank you, James!
Mr. Newby was very courteous and professional to me and my needs, not to mention the fact that he was very quick to get back to me. In my line of business I have worked with several attorneys and after my experience in dealing with Mr. Newby I trust and value his opinion. I find that his past professional experiences in our community turned out to be helpful with my case and added value to his ability to represent me. I would have no problem in referring his professional services, in fact I would refer him to a friend or a family member, which says a lot!
