About Me

I understand that you will have many excellent choices as you search for an attorney to help you.  I encourage and invite you to consult with several attorneys before you make this important decision. Perhaps learning a little about me as a person will give you some insight into the type of advocate I will be on your behalf.  First, I am fiercely loyal and committed:  I have been happily married to my husband, Spencer (a teacher), since 1991.  We are enjoying raising our four children, Spencer Jr. and triplets Hays, Charlotte and Coleman.  Second, I am energetic:  we moved our family to Colorado in 2010 to enjoy the outdoor opportunities that our whole family so enjoys – biking, skiing, and hiking.    I learned to swim in 2011 so that I could start participating in triathalons; as both a lawyer and an individual, I am extremely competitive!  Since I love a good challenge, swimming has become my favorite sport.  I am an active volunteer with the University Hill Elementary PTA and Boulder Junior Cycling because I love children, education, and sports.

Kara and I have worked together on many occasions. She is a pre-eminent personal injury attorney due to her years of experience within the courtroom. More important, Kara is very compassionate and is one of the best that I know at explaining to her client strategy, the litigation process, and what is in their best interest. Her dedication is to her client, and those that have a chance to work with her see that on a daily basis. She is one of the few personal injury attorneys that does not decide the fate of her client's case solely based on the amount of her contingency award. As such, her clients are always happy with her end results. In addition, although her primary area of expertise is personal injury, I have seen her jump into landlord-tenant, employment, and foreclosure disputes with an eagerness to represent her clients fully and competently. No matter how big the case or how unusual the dispute, Kara is always prepared to fully represent her clients.
