James M. Cordes has been an associate attorney at the Law Office of Laura E. Shapiro since 2011. James received his undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and his law degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law.
While in law school, James distinguished himself as a quarter-finalist in the Hogan & Hartson CU/DU Cup Mock Trial competition and was honored to be selected as a trial team coach for the Student Trial Lawyers Association.
At the Law Office of Laura E. Shapiro, James has both successfully litigated complex cases in courtrooms across Colorado and reached fair settlements through both mediation and litigation. James has the experience to guide you through complicated financial issues including dividing business interests and pensions (including military pensions), determining child support and maintenance obligations, and drafting prenuptial agreements.
