I retained Mr. Scott to obtain custody of my daughter. I was told exactly what I needed to do and pretty much how to do it. Explained to me in detail what documents and evidence he would need for my case. Met with Mr. Scott on several occasions in person and discussed things over the phone as well. Temporary hearing came up, again I was told what I needed to do, sat in court room and heard the Judge say that temporary custody was awarded to me. Music to my ears! Several months later, final hearing was around the corner,. he negotiated an offer to the opposing counsel with my consent of course and it was accepted. The final hearing consisted of just entering the agreement into the court, Judge signed off and I now have custody of my daughter. I couldn't have done it without the advice and knowledge of Mr. Scott.
Once he was hired he wouldn't talk with me over the phone, face to face appointments only. I hired him to file my case which was time sensitive. He said he had file the papers on time and I later found out that he waited until it was too late therefore losing my case.
I wanted custody of my children but had no idea how to proceed. He helped me, gathered information, gave me advise, was powerful and direct in court, and I now have custody of my three children. I am thankful I choose Mr. Scott to be my attorney in something so important to me.
I was charged with a serious felony charge regarding my wife's children. No lawyer would believe me, they all wanted me to take a plea and go to prison. They wouldn't even listen to my story. Mr. Scott listened and said this is what we can do. He was great. He did everything right. He took my case to a jury trial but right before that actually happened, he called me and told me the charges were dropped. I am so grateful to this man. I would recommend him to anyone with a serious criminal charge. I was innocent and didn't want to take a plea. Mr. Scott said then you shouldn't. That was so good to hear.
Let me start off by saying that this attorneys law firm came recommended to me by another attorney. NOT this attorney. I was told to hire Damian Castillo, but ended up hiring Mr. Scott. My case was the kind of case "the good ol' boys" needed to handle. Its amazing to me Mr. Scott has a bar card. Every aspect of my dealings with Mr. Scott and his law form was terrible. His staff are rude, unprofessional, and just plain neglectful. After retaining Mr. Scott for the hefty sum of $10,000 dollars, a couple of months into it another charge (the exact same charge) was added to my case. I was told I needed to pay 15,000 MORE dollars. I scrapped the bottom of the barrel to come up with the funds, b/c he assured me my case would be resolved in my favor, and his law office already had all my files and were pretty familiar with my case. That was the biggest mistake I ever made, and I learned a hard lesson from it. I was already very unhappy with the treatment I received from the firm, but I was desperate because I had already invested 10,000 dollars into it. He is completely unreachable. For that sum of money I DESERVE to have a cell phone number given to me so I could communicate, but was told "we don't give out cellphone numbers". I have retained other attorneys since then, and are always given cell phone numbers. To make a long story short, 2 years and 25,000 dollars later I was talked into the worst plea bargain for my case. Mr. Scott is the worst negotiator I have ever seen, he wouldn't even try to get the 10 year community supervision reduced. If you have had the misfortune of being assigned to him as your court appointed, hire someone else.
Handled my divorce very well. I was pleased.
This one charged me alot, and I got nothing. He said over the phone my case would be a done deal, just bring the money. That was 6 months ago. Moved out of Texas. Got a letter a day before a hearing, and had to fly down there at last minute. He said he talked to County Attourney and it was all wrapped up. Got a letter Saturday, said a jury trial is scheduled for next week. Never got phone calls, never got them returned. Never got proof that he was doing anything. Never got anything but lies and hassle. I wouldn't even give him 1 star!
