Dan O'Brien has practiced law for over 12 years representing individuals and corporations.  His practice assists both defendants and plaintiffs in a wide variety of cases.  Immediately following law school, Dan was selected for appointment as a briefing attorney for Justice Davie L. Wilson at the First Court of Appeals in Houston where he worked on numerous criminal and civil appeals ranging from capital murder cases to complex civil cases. 


After his stint at the court of appeals, he joined the Commercial Litigation Section of a large Austin law firm.  There, his practice included diverse civil litigation experience with cases involving business law and commercial law (contract disputes, commercial collection actions, business torts, trade secrets / intellectual property disputes, deceptive trade practices), family law, real estate law, and personal injury law (including products liability and premises liability).  In 2006, Dan married a Fort Worth native and relocated to North Texas.  Dan joined a Fort Worth firm where he continued his practice in commercial and civil litigation.  Dan now maintains his own practice between Austin and Dripping Springs, Texas. From time to time, lends his expertise and experience to the firm of Lovelace Killen & Ribitzki, PLLC in an of counsel capacity.


Dan is licensed to practice law before all state courts in Texas, all federal district courts in Texas, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.  Dan is a qualified mediator able to accept appointment as meditor of all cases pending in Texas state courts, including suits affecting the parent-child relationship.
