About Me

Attorney Stephen T Bowling comes to the law with a unique set of skills and experience. In 1997, he joined the United States Navy. In the ten years he served in the military he served on three deployments to the middle east, was flown into New Orleans on a CH-47 Chinook helicopter after Hurricane Katrina to secure an area for the initial responders, and served three years in a military police unit. This time in the military taught him the value and importance of protecting the lives that are placed under his responsibility. Although he no longer serves on active duty in the military, he still lives by these lessons when he takes the lives of his clients into his hands. He understands that a DWI charge is a life changing accusation.

While serving in a military police unit, Stephen Bowling served in positions ranging from Patrolman to Watch Commander. He was entrusted with training personnel on conducting DWI Arrests and writing the Operating Procedures for identifying and conducting DWI arrests. In order to accomplish this responsibility he became certified through the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) Field Sobriety Testing Course. This course focused on identifying suspects that met the requirements to undergo Field Sobriety Testing through the standard tests recommended by the NHTSA. These tests are the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN), Walk-and-Turn, and One-Leg Stand tests. In addition he was trained on the proper administration and maintenance of the Intoxilyzer 5000, the same machine used for the “breath test” by a majority of Texas police jurisdictions. His time in the military led to over a dozen personal awards including Medals for his exceptional performance as a Field Training Officer and Watch Commander, actions taken in response to Hurricane Katrina, and combat operations in Iraq.

While on active duty he completed his Bachelor of Science in Business Management at Liberty University and, later, a Masters in Management through Liberty University. During his time in the military, Steve’s work on DWI cases led to his desire to become an attorney. Eventually, three years after receiving an honorable discharge from the military, Steve applied to the University of New Hampshire School of Law, was accepted, and on graduation was awarded his Juris Doctor degree with honors. Steve is now an active member of the Texas bar focusing his practice on DWI defense, family law, and personal injury cases.

I met Steve at UNH School of Law where he was a year ahead of me. He was always a serious student while also being very positive and friendly. I know that he worked under Attorney (now NH Superior Court Judge) Charles Temple in the Criminal Clinic and there is no better mentor. It was a pleasure having classes with him. I am not surprised that his clients find him dedicated, attentive and focused on providing the exceptional legal representation and getting them the best result possible.
