I have the highest recommendation for Bob Schmidt and the Crews Law Firm for employment law. I never thought I would be in a situation to use his services and questioned myself when I first called. Bob was able to immediately to stop the process the company was taking against me and have the company address their questionable actions. Throughout this process I was able to keep my position an additional six months and receive a substantial settlement which I thought was fair.
From start to finish Bob was professional and empathetic to my situation. What impressed me and was most helpful was his ability to assist me to understand my situation better, my position in the case, potential outcomes and overall how he managed the settlement. He was extremely responsive when needed and kept me up to date with any proceedings or developments. I highly recommend Bob for any employment law case.
Bob Schmidt, is a plaintiff only employment attorney in the state of Texas. If ever there were a crap job in the legal profession, Bob's is IT! Bob Schmidt is knowledgeable, honest, personable and even friendly while being tough as nails. He's in a role that is - to put it plainly - thankless and that stacks the deck against him and his clients as a matter of default status.
The state of TX makes it difficult for the employed (or recently unemployed) to hold employers accountable for their wrongdoings and misconduct, primarily because it's a state that openly and unapologetically values providing an environment most suitable and most attractive to corporate interests.
Texas essentially tells businesses to, "move your company here, because it's a corporate free-for-all and responsibility to the employed is not what we're about, so feel secure to know you have no accountability when it comes to the cogs in your corporate wheel; the pawns on your corporate chess board."
In spite of this, Bob Schmidt shows up every day to work on behalf of the people that Texas and its corporate buddies would just as soon cast aside as if they weren't real people at all. Bob not only shows up, but he comes to fight - but with an approachable disposition and warm demeanor. I liked him personally, but could tell that he wouldn't be pushed around by even the biggest corporate juggernaut.
Within 15 minutes of meeting Bob, I knew that I had happened upon a great decision. And interestingly, it was only after I had met with him initially that I heard several glowing recommendations from his peers working in Austin as employment attorneys. It was only after our initial meeting, as well, that Bob continued to be accessible to me (as he promised in the initial consultation) and provide me with expert counsel, without requiring additional payment. All this came in spite of the fact that his recommendation throughout was for me to look for a non-legal solution, which is ultimately what I obtained.
Bob is an all around great guy and a fantastic attorney. I would recommend him to anyone who feels that "the man" has unjustly stuck to him or her in the workplace. He truly goes above and beyond the call of duty to provide excellent counsel.
Bob settled my lawsuit recently and was so patient with me through the whole process. He was caring and kind, and never gave up on the case even though it took a long time to settle. There were times I wanted to give up because of the stress of the lawsuit, but Bob believed in me and my case and truly wanted to help me get the justice I deserved. I am so glad that I got Bob as my attorney, and I am so relieved he settled my case. Because of Bob, I am hopeful that my past employer will not ever treat another employee like I was treated.
I tried to hire Mr. Schmidt to fight a lawsuit for me vs. a very big employer or institution. He was both feet forward at first but then got cold feet. I think he was probably afraid of a suit this size. We had a rock solid case against a big medical institution but Mr. Schmidt chickened out and wouldn't take the case. If you were going to small claims court, he might be a good attorney but anything that means anything, stay away from this guy. He'll grab your $250 consultation fee and run.
It's hard to find an attorney to represent employees (not employers). Bob Schmidt is a unique breed of attorney. Bob's knowledge of Texas employment law is unsurpassed. He set realistic expectations from the beginning and he guided me along every step of the way of the appeals process. I highly recommend Bob for employee representation.
Mr. Schmidt spent a good amount of time speaking to me and informing me of the entire process- what to expect, what they may say, etc. During the hearing, he asked a lot of questions to draw out the truth/facts of the matter from my previous employer. I liked that he kept me updated and returned my calls and believed in my case. He also checked up on me- Bob really does care and at the same time he was all business with the handling of my case. Most of all, he took the stress away from this situation so I could focus my attention to other matters.
Bob Schmidt is absolutely the best! He was extremely thorough in the handling of my case. He was very responsive with his follow up to any of my concerns or questions. He was very knowledgable about the law and what my rights were. I highly recommend him!
Very solid on the law and facts. Really concerned about me and my case. Best lawyer in Texas!
