Kevin was extremely helpful throughout the process making sure to keep both my wife and I informed. Kevin did a great job of attacking the case at every angle to make sure I was getting the best outcome possible. We were nearing the end of the process and I was almost positive my case wasn't going to be dismissed, but Kevin gave it one more try and was able to strike an agreement with the prosecutor. I cant think him enough for not giving up and going the extra mile to get this done. I would encourage anyone in need of a criminal defense lawyer to at least speak with Kevin!

Kevin did a tremendous job as my legal counsel. I do not live in Texas and needed to handle my case via corespondense. He handled everything and the result was far better than I had hoped. He had the courts finalize my case and without me ever having to visit the state. Great job, thanks again

I just want to say that Mr. Bennett helped me late last year on a case that was from 1995 and made the process easy to deal with. He was very informative and kept me up to date on my case and was very honest which I find hard for some people to do these days. This whole ordeal was very stressful but he helped me as much as he could to ease the situation. His assistants were very nice and professional as well! Mr. Bennett was a great choice to represent me and I highly recommend him to anyone needing legal representation! Thanks again Mr. Bennett!

Mr. Bennett was my legal representation last year and I was satisfied with the services he provided. His responses to my questions were timely and his appearances when requested by the court were punctual. I would recommend his services.

If you want Elmore Fudd to represent you, then hire this joker. I did all the work and he was basically just a figure with a law degree to go in front of the court. I had a temp protective order case and instead of defending me, his strategy was to just go along with my ex-wife and "don't Rock the boat". Never once did challenge the accusations that my ex noted as reasons for the temp order. Because of his lack of effort or contimency, it was put in as a permanent, at which time he dropped me and the case. He also threatened not to assist when I pushed for action. $2000 wasted.
Don't hire this guy to represent you In a protective order.

Kevin Matthew Bennett’s response: “I am very sorry that you feel this way. Protective order cases are some of the most emotionally charged cases at the court house. Going into such a case, I have all of my clients draft a summary of statements and responses to the allegations in a protective order so that I can be familiar with the history of the relationship, the facts of the case, the allegations against my clients and my client’s goals. Nobody is more familiar with their own family and the allegations against them than my own client. My clients’ initial and continued hard work is essential to the defense of the case and it does take quite a bit of time, work and patience on my clients’ behalf, as well as my own. I understand that most of my clients want their day in court as soon as possible, but unfortunately, the legal process takes time. I always advise my clients that while the protective order is pending, to keep a low profile, to not communicate with the other party and not violate the temporary protective order in any way, regardless of how strong or weak the allegations are against them. Any new allegations, even if false, can put the case into a tailspin and possibly lead to criminal charges against them. I've represented four (4) different clients in protective order hearings over the past two years. The first one was dismissed after several months. The second one went to hearing where the protective order was denied after a full-day hearing. The third case was dismissed after several months. The fourth and last case I handled, which I believe was for this reviewer, my client agreed to a very short six month protective order, not a permanent protective order. This decision was solely theirs to make, required their agreement in open court and was based on wanting to get the process behind them, to re-gain visitation rights to their child, and to not risk having a permanent/lifetime protective order entered at hearing, which was a very real possibility in this case. A six month protective order is almost unheard of, as two year protective orders are easily and routinely granted by Judges. I put forth an incredible amount of time, effort and emotion into this case, which helped the client re-gain parental and visitation rights to their child and substantially limit the duration of the protective order. Prior to hiring my office, a Judge had taken away my client’s parental rights and visitation altogether. If the client had directed me in any different way, I would have been happy (and obligated) to proceed in that manner. This is what I do for a living and I love doing it, at least most of the time. After a protective order case or any case is concluded, an attorney’s representation is also concluded. Furthermore, if a former client needs additional assistance in a new matter, or in a different area of law than I practice and I am unable to assist them, I will usually refer them to at least three (3) different attorneys that may be able to help them plus the Austin Lawyer Referral Service, which is what I did in this case. I’m deeply sorry that you are unhappy with my office. I am always willing to meet or have coffee with former clients and would be happy to meet with you to discuss your concerns, or just life in general. Either way, I wish you the best. Thank you.”

Kevin Bennett is a great lawyer. I told him my case, gave him my paper work. Kevin told me exactly how he could help me and kept his word. Anytime there was new information on my case, Kevin called me immediately. I would recommend him to anyone.
