Hired for child custody case. Turns out our attorney is friends with opposing counsel. We had a strong sexual abuse case but Mr. Nicholas was completely unprepared not to mention an hour and a half late to our hearing. He tipped off opposing counsel and they were able to put an order in place allowing the boyfriend to remain in the home since he had been ordered to leave the home. He milked us for $8600 and only spent about 1 hour in court. He never read transcripts from previous hearings which he requested we purchase. We have been left with a temporary order that does not define child support or visitation and he has asked for more $$ to proceed with the case!!! He admits via text message to making a business transaction with opposing counsel for office space and refuses to release a statement of expenditures for our case. We have asked at least 4 times for a statement. Now I cannot even get him to communicate. I am currently filing a grievance with the State Bar. DO NOT HIRE HIM. You will regret it.
From the first time I spoke to Mr. Nicholas I was well pleased. This was the first time I had ever been charged with any type of crime so I was, to say the least, very scared. Mr. Nicholas gave me hope. We went over my case thoroughly on the phone. He took many notes as we spoke and he gave me feed back as we went through every detail. He treated me with respect and returned my calls/email better than any attorney I have ever dealt with in the past. Even though the police were way out of line in the way they handled my case, my life could have been drastically changed for the worse if not for the knowledgeable council of Mr. Nicholas. I was charged with a felony and a misdemeanor and both have been dropped thanks to the wisdom of my attorney. I would highly recomend this attorney to a family member or friend. Thank you Stephen!
