Our case was not in the line of normal legal forms as we are the grandparents of a special needs child. We have full custody with issues with both biological parents. Mrs. Lovorn and her staff had to go over and beyond fighting the AG's office because we were not a cookie cutter case. She kept us well informed of our legal rights as well as how the case was progressing. This was a very stressful time for us and her and her staff walked with us through the entire process. Needless to say our case turned out better than expected due to their diligence and truly understanding our unique situation and fighting for us.

On several issues, Julia has provided legal counsel that has help my decision process. She and her staff have answered my questions in a very timely manner. Documentation was provided as requested and included review of the document and any questions or issues that I needed to be clarified before execution/signature.
Her team is very professional and kind as I described my circumstances. They provided possible solutions for me to consider. I recommend Julia.

My husband and I needed to update our wills from 35 years ago. Julia walked us through all the steps, she asked all of the right questions ( many I had not thought of before). She was exceptionally kind and genuinely concerned that we don't miss anything. The procedure was done in a timely manner. Her assistants were also conscientious and took time to answer any questions I may have had or to give Julia messages. She always returned my calls in a reasonably short time. I feel confident that our wills state exactly what we wanted and I am very satisfied.

I am a Father and going through a divorce in the Houston Area. Julia and her team have provided me with excellent representation in our fight for custody of my child. She guided me through this difficult process and I now have quality time with my son. With Julia, you will never feel like you have to settle. I recommend Julia and her team!

Worst experience I have ever had. She completely is unorganized- unprofessional in a sense where as she is loosely making jokes about my situation in mediation. Unethical in talking with me and the mediator of past cases in which she in turn also makes fun of those clients. She rude and very centered on herself whereas she lacks capacity to even do her job. Unresponsive- you will have to call and email time and time again. Over charged. Good luck !

Julia R. Lovorn’s response: “This is from a client, or one of her relatives, who wanted community property benefits, such as spousal support, when the people weren't married. I'd explained this over and over again. There were never multiple phone calls or e-mails. We try to return all calls and e-mails as soon as possible. I do sometimes try to lighten the client's mood at mediation by talking of other subjects. And my fees are either competitive, or below average, for someone with over 30 years' experience. I'm afraid this person just had unrealistic expectations, and her relatives didn't help.”
  • I highly recommend Julia.

I know Julia personally and professionally. I have referred a considerable amount of clients to her because I trust her expertise. I have also had the privilege of working side by side with her professionally as well, in the collaborative family law process as an MHP. It is an honor and delight to be associated with Julia Lovorn and her wonderful staff.

She handled my divorce in an efficient and cost effective manner. She gave me excellent advise and saved me a lot of heart-ache and expense. She does not upsell or waste any time or money. She says it like it is, and is patient and thorough at explaining it, but as a client it is your responsibility to accept and deal with it. You can find a lot of lawyers that know they can get a lot of your money by promising and not delivering, and this is not Julia. In the unfortunate and unlikely event that I should ever need to be in a divorce or other adversarial legal process, I would hire her again without hesitation.

Attorney never listen to me and what I wanted accomplished. It was her way or the highway. She told me one thing and then told me another thing the next time. If I dared to question her she pulled out the paperwork to remove herself from the case. At mediation she did not support me nor try to help me negotiate the terms. We agreed to dismiss her from the case only if my trial was not given another date...instead she gave her paper to the judge, walked out and didn't give me anything leaving me completely on my own with no papers to defend myself! It also took three times to get all of my file and I still am missing some paperwork! She is too pricey for her experience. To make matters worse, we had to contact her office three times to get her actually removed from my case because the judge hadn't approved her dismissal in the court file!

Julia R. Lovorn’s response: “I'm afraid this is from a client who has mental health issues. She became physically violent during mediation, and she had to have a relative present to try to calm her. It was extremely difficult to communicate to her. I did have to withdraw from her case and she became violent again in the Courtroom. The Court Clerk told me to leave quickly for my own safety.”
