My relatives estate has been in probate for years. Originally I retained an attorney with probate experience but not much of a litigator. I found Ostrom/ Sain through another highly regarded attorney. Jason seems to have excellent insight on what needs to be done and a real understanding of nuances or what needs to be addressed or filed. I would recommend him as an attorney. He lays out a map for the end game.
That being said, if the firm had a bit more staff, I think they would be able to communicate with the client better. Perhaps it is better not to know every filing. However, as an heir with probate experience, no attorney has more insight of your family than the you, the client.
Keep in mind emotions in estates can often get out of hand. That is why you should hire an experienced litigator you feel comfortable with resolving your claims.

Mr. Ostrom was extremely negligent in the estate of my father. I'm not CERTAIN that he's ignorant of the law or just not energized enough to master it. This estate was very complicated and beyond his mastery. Please do your research before hiring an attorney, they can make a huge difference in your struggle to overcome your grief. His office is not properly staffed and when you need a record pulled it takes weeks, sometimes months and sometimes never. it's a simple task for an attorney to find out the taxes due on properties yet we lost ALL properties due to overdue taxes allowed to get into a range that could not be recouped. This was a $2M estate that was so poorly managed that the heirs recieved $0.
