About Me

Heather K. Kubiak

Ms. Kubiak is an attorney, mediator, and arbitrator who has represented businesses in a variety of complex commercial litigation, including insurance coverage, directors and officers disputes, and contract disputes. Ms. Kubiak has first-chaired 15 jury trials, two bench trials, and an AAA arbitration to verdict.  She has also mediated and arbitrated a number of commercial disputes.

Before starting her own law firm, she worked at Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP and Fulbright & Jaworski LLP.  While at Fulbright, Ms. Kubiak conceived and implemented a program by which Houston law firms sent young trial attorneys to volunteer as municipal prosecutors for the City of Houston.

Ms. Kubiak is active in the Houston Bar Association (HBA), performing annually with the theatrical troupe of the HBA, known as "Night Court." She has also been active in other community theatre engagements, including the 60th Anniversary Gala for the Houston Area Women's Shelter and the 10th Annual Celebration of the Minority Corporate Counsel Association. Ms. Kubiak has also served on the HBA's Gender Fairness Committee for three years.

Ms. Kubiak earned her J.D., with honors, from the University of Texas School of Law in 1998, where she worked on the Review of Litigation and published an article in the Texas Journal of Women and the Law. She also performed for the law school's theatre troupe, Assault & Flattery. In 1994, she earned her A.B. in English from the College of William & Mary.

Ms. Kubiak is admitted to practice in Texas and before the U.S. Supreme Court; the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth and Federal Circuits; and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Eastern, and Western Districts of Texas.
