About Me

I am a native Houstonian, dedicated to defending the rights of the citizen accused. I have never worked for law enforcement, and I have never worked for the District Attorneys Office. The reason for that is simple: my passion flows only one way, and that is to defend those citizens accused of crimes.

A Blue Collar upbringing has left me with many advantages: I'm about as "salt of the Earth," as it gets. You'll never have to worry about going through my secretary to get to me; my cell phone number is one of the first things I make sure every client has.

I'm also a "lunch pail" kind of guy; I may not win every fight, but you can damn sure bet I didn't get out-worked. I have a Blue Collar work ethic, because that's who I am, and where I'm from.

Finally, I'm a fighter. I'm among those Texans that recalls this is the 'Come and Take it," State.  I'm as polite and professional in the courtroom as any lawyer in town, but when the chips are down, and a trial is what you need to protect your liberty, I'll be the one holding the flag, and charging the hill, in your defense.

I understand people.  I understand the law. And I'm willing to fight either one, to protect you.

Rick has a special gift for writing few other lawyers have. Many clients have issues with their cases at the trial level and need a lawyer who can keep the fight going on appeal. Rick searches tirelessly to find the necessary case law to back up his arguments. More importantly, he has the creativity to put it all neatly down on paper so judges side with him more often than not. I endorse this lawyer.
