My practice focuses on helping entrepreneurs and their families to build wealth and protect their assets. Through our firm we provide counsel and advice in deal structuring, negotiating acquisitions and sales of closely held business, project finance and real estate projects. We have also successfully represented business owners and others in white collar criminal defense matters.
Prior to establishing my law practice, I worked for 10 years as accounting manager, director of financial operations and then chief financial officer for DIR, Inc. – a Houston based research and evaluation government contractor.
I have been a licensed CPA since 2003 and I am heavily involved in strategic and long-range planning for various organizations.
I earned my BBA with a double major in accounting and finance from the Bauer College of Business at The University of Houston in 1998. I earned my J.D. from South Texas College of Law in 2006 while working fulltime as Chief Financial Officer at DIR, Inc. While at South Texas, I earned awards in advocacy in both mock trial and moot court with honors in both areas, and was adjudged best advocate in the preliminary rounds of the Thurgood Marshall Mock Trial Competition in January 2005 in Dallas, Texas.
I am a member of the State Bar of Texas and a section member of both the Business Law and Real Estate/Probate/Estate Planning sections.
I am a past member of the Tax and Forensic and Valuation Services sections of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
I serve on the Board of Directors for Independence Heights Redevelopment Council (IHRC) as President. IHRC is committed to the restoration and historic preservation of this historic community in Houston, Texas.
I have been married to my loving and supportive wife for 12 years and we have a playful toddler son who loves music. We attend Brookhollow Baptist Church - The Church Without Walls.
