I hired Kyle Morris to handle my workers comp claim. It required major surgery and I relied on Kyle to handle everything. Unfortunately, the insurance carrier was very uncooperative and hired an out of town attorney to handle their side of the case. I was forced to gather all of the pertinent information myself and forward it to Mr. Morris. Some of the billing is very questionable. They charged $50 several times just to draft a notice that I have a hearing when the Texas Department of Insurance had already sent me the same notice. This is repetitive and unnecessary in my opinion. Then Mr. Morris refused to talk to any doctors. Yet he told me to tell them what he wanted. Then when he did not get what he wanted, he wanted me to go back to them again instead of just calling them himself. My doctors were very confused by the way he handled the case. In the end, we had to file an appeal about the decision of the case and when the next step was filing a suit in district court, he point blank told me he was filing a motion to witdraw forcing me to look for another attorney to handle the case several years into it and after he has gotten the majority of the money for legal fees leaving no incentive for anyone to want to take the case now. He is not someone I would recommend for someone in a serious situation with workers comp. In my opinion, he should see things to the very end for clients and do the legwork himself instead of billing for ridiculous charges just because he knows workers comp will approve it without hesitation. As far as being able to reach him, sometimes I could, sometimes I could not and it takes ages to get a return call or answer most of the time. I recommend searching for a different lawyer.
