About Me

Jennifer Gurevitz has more than 10 years of tax law experience structuring business joint ventures among partners for small to midsize companies. She is first and foremost a lawyer who enjoys helping people meet their goals.

She has an extensive background in handling and structuring business transactions, partnership and corporate tax planning and corporate governance in a variety of areas. Her practice areas include healthcare, real estate transactions, energy matters, international deals, business joint ventures, start-ups, reorganizations and corporate separations. Her clients include technology companies, medical groups, franchises, real estate developers and investors, and housewares companies, to name just a few of her varied corporate and partnership clients.

Ms. Gurevitz brings extensive tax planning experience to these transactions to ensure the transaction is structured in the most tax-efficient manner, including regularly addressing equity compensation issues.  In addition to her experience in partnership and corporate tax planning, she also practices civil tax controversy and resolution, as well as estate planning, and has extensive experience in non-profit organization and governance.

Ms. Gurevitz received her B.B.A. in accounting and her M.P.A in accounting with an emphasis in tax from the University of Texas in 2000; her J.D. from the University of Florida in 2003, with honors; and her LL.M. in taxation from New York University in 2005. Jennifer has also served as an attorney-adviser for Judge Juan F. Vasquez at the United States Tax Court.

She is a frequent speaker at the S corporation committee section of the American Bar Association tax meetings and the co-author of "Opportunities and Pitfalls with Non-Pro Rata Distributions to Residuary Beneficiaries," Probate and Property, a publication by the American Bar Association, July/August 2005. She is admitted to practice law in Texas and Florida. She is also a CPA in Florida and an inactive member of the Illinois and Maryland bars.
