I was facing a probation revocation from a old case. I had a active blue warrant for my arrest hanging over my head. I contacted Paul after researching lawyers out of Collin County and finding him to be reputable. He within a few weeks had a 8yr old case before the current DA to make a deal for reinstatement with no jail. I was not even asked to book in. Very professional and easy to talk to. If you are serious about dealing with your criminal issue Paul Key can help you.

While quickly coming to the realization that I had a problem with drinking, I experienced some back to back DUI's. Paul helped put my mind at ease during that incredibly stressful time. He explained the expectations, was knowledgeable, and kept me well informed along the way. I believe the outcomes were just and that he worked out the best possible deal in each scenario. I think Paul did a great job for me and I have since recommended him to friends.

I'm still fairly young, a new father , and just started my career 3 years ago out of school. Made a huge mistake where I let someone get the best of me and tried confronting them and they didn't lead to anything good. My lack of thought in the heat of the moment got me in the corner looking at a state felony. Something that could easily ruin my future as far as my career goes, which would negatively impact my ability to provide for my son the way I intended and the sole reason for working so hard through college. I was concerned about losing my job, not being able to get another one in my field, and my entire college education going down the tubes. My main objective was to avoid getting a felony conviction or even indictment in order to provide my son with the life I envisioned and that I worked so hard to achieve for myself as well. Paul listened to my concerns, what my goals were, and helped me achieve them. From the moment I called him and discussed the situation and gave him the details he was ready to start on it and get things going. The charges I was facing were pretty trumped up and blown out of proportion, not saying I didn’t do anything wrong or mess up but the person took advantage of the circumstances used it as a way to get a larger pay day. Paul saw that and knew what we needed to do to help plead my case and get the best outcome possible. In the end it didn’t cost me an arm and a leg, actually his entire attorney’s fees were the least expensive part of the whole ordeal, and he got the felony reduced to a class b misdemeanor. Also, if it has any substance this case was tried in Collin County. Not sure if it’s entirely true, but from what I’ve been told by essentially anyone and everyone I’ve talked to is that’s one of the last places you want to appear in court that they don’t like making deals and much harder to get things reduced as opposed to somewhere like Dallas or Tarrant County.

I am a 24 year old single mother who got one to many speeding tickets as a teenager and before my sons birth in 2009. and a few to many late mornings to work. In a nut shell, my DL was suspended and in order to drive legaly i needed a occupational DL. He made the process as easy as possible, and mind you this was all done while i was at work! Brian recived my information around 9 am and had the court order completed the ODL approved and the packet that i have to send to DPS in austin ready by 5pm that same day!!I didnt relize this until today ( the following day becuase i had not check my e mails beofre leaving work) SO today being the day before thanks giving and hes offices closing early along with mine he will be leaving the package for me on the front door for pick up rather then holding it and making me wait till friday . I didnt have to come to hes office or leave at any time. a few e mails, a few phone calls and one fax and he had it taken care of. He was personable and understanding! He made a sticky situation, easier to deal with . I would recommend him for any legal needs you have !

My 21 year old son was arrested for what I would consider a trumped up charge. When I contacted Mr. Key and explained the situation he agreed with my assumption and explaind a reasonable course of action to take. He contacted my son direct and at my son's direction kept me fully informed as to the progress of his case at all time. He proceeded with the case in the manner we agreed upon and we were pleased with the outcome of the case. We intend to use him again to have the charge expunged. Highly recommend this attorney.

Paul laid out my options and identified the best strategy, to which I followed. His experience in this field proved to be invaluable. He kept me well informed as to what steps were being taken and made a very difficult situation a lot easier. If anyone finds themselves faced with a criminal charge I recommend retaining Paul.

Damaged some property with a stray bullet. Paul did everything for me, contacted property owner, assessed the damage for a quote. The state still wanted to press charges, took my firearms and threatened felony charges. I was amazed at the results i got in such short amount of time.
No charges, and had my weapons back in 16 days.

Paul Key took care of me in February of 2011 after receiving a DUI 2nd offense. I was very scared and from our first meeting to our last Paul treated me with dignity, honesty, and professionalism. He gave the possible outcomes and made sure I was always informed of the letter of the law. He intervened on my behalf when the State of Texas made errors in my case and was always available.
I would recommend Paul to any friend in need a good attorney with high integrity.

I HIGHLY recommend Paul Key, unfortunately I received a DWI while driving with a suspended license, I was scared to death and really had no one to turn to, who could I trust? After discussing all the details with him, he explained the law to me in a way that I understood and somehow felt at ease. He has a wonderful sense of humor that helped me get thru the whole ordeal. Paul is respected by all in the courtroom, the DA's, Judge as well as other attorneys. My case was dismissed, everything played out just as he had explained it would from the beginning. Oh and not to mention I was financially strapped, he was kind enough to let me pay him in 3 payments vs on gigantic lump sum. I will always be extremely grateful for his help, otherwise I might not would have the freedom I have to write this review!! THANKS PAUL YOU'RE THE BEST!!! I would recommend him to anyone.

I was arrested for a DWI. I felt I was mistreated by the arresting officers and lost my temper and had a tough case to win. Paul is extremely intelligent and effective. He won my case and was able to clear it from my record. I have referred 3 people to Paul and they all had similar results. Bottom line Paul walks on water. MN

I hired Paul Key in January of 2012 to take care of my divorce. Although his area of expertise and regular practice is criminal defense, he still made time to handle my divorce very efficiently and at a fast pace. I was convinced that my divorce would consist of long hours of mediation, arguments and upsetting confrontations but I am very pleased to say that due to Mr. Key's professionalism it was all over in a matter of months. Not only was it over a lot quicker than I anticipated but I never once had to see or deal with my ex-wife with the exception of one or two phone conversations.
Mr. Key kept me informed at all times and I was very comforted by the fact that I could contact him directly via his cell phone instead of having to deal with leaving messages with a Secretary and having to wait and hope that he received my messages.
God forbid that I ever need legal representation again but if I do I would definitely be contacting Mr.Key!

Paul Key was excellent and exceeded my expecatations. He listened to me when I called him, and fought diligantly for me as a person, not a criminal or a paycheck. I was immediately comfortable with the ease of his knowledge of the legal system as well as his desire to personally help me with my case. He kept me informed at all times, and helped me to understand every aspect of my case with timely information that was thorough and weighed all possible outcomes. He was able to obtain information that I was not even aware that he could! The outcome of my case was more favorable than I ever could have imagined thanks to his knowledge of the legal system and how to effectively navigate it, and he was able to get my case thrown out. I would recommend him to anyone that needs to hire an attorney: he is fast, reliable, and respectful and will inform you not only of all of your rights but will facilitate justice.

I hired Paul on a referral from a friend. I didn't know what to do when my child was accused of theft. My child had never been in trouble before and I didn’t want her to have a criminal record. Mr. Key was able to get my child into a diversion program, lower her restitution, and get her the counseling she needed. If she follows through and finishes the program her case will never get prosecuted. I am so glad I went with Mr. Key.

My name is Julie Dill and I highly reccommend Paul Key. He has represented me on two different occasions. He went above and beyond to fight for me and my freedom. He is honest, sincere and professional. I have already reccommended him to a friend of mine. And that friend also had nothing but the best experience with Mr. Key. If you need someone you can trust and someone who will go above and beyond to defend you, Paul Key is the attorney you need. I have no regrets hiring him. As long as he is in practice, I will not look to anyone else to defend me. Hopefully I will not put myself in anymore situations to where I will need his assistance. Never the less...he believed in me when it was hard believing in myself. Thank you, Paul.

My experience with Mr. Paul Key was incredible.
Mr. Key demonstrated the highest levels of professionalism and concern, in regard to my case. He worked hard, and quickly to address each new development. An easy example of his concern for his clients, would be how he handled my bail. When it was set at an unfairly high amount, he quickly had it lowered substantially. I wouldn't have known any better, if I didn't have him there. It's things like this, where Mr. Key truly looks out for his clients, that you realize you're not just another client. He actually takes an interest, and is working to get you the best outcome possible in a given situation. Throughout the process, Mr. Key worked as my advocate, making sure that everything was being done to make this process as painless as possible. If things were moving slowly on the court's side, Mr. Key was in contact to make sure that I wasn't unnecessarily worried.
What has impressed me the most with Mr. Key, is not just the professional and effective manner in which he handled my case, but the calming force he was in my life. When you know you have someone who will work his hardest to get you the best possible outcomes, and who has an impressive track record in doing just that, it makes the stress of legal trouble much easier to bear. As a full time student, when I got into some legal problems, I could see a black cloud hanging over the future of my education. Mr. Key, through his knowledge, experience, and hard work, was able to address those fears. Here I am today, with this ordeal almost completely behind me, and thanks to Mr. Key, it won't show up on my record. This means that my education will not be hindered, and I can move forward with my life, without the weight of a bad decision hanging over my head. I could not have asked for a better outcome to my case, and I owe that to Mr. Key.
I obviously wouldn't want to have legal trouble again, but If I were to ever run into a problem, I can unquestionably say that my first phone call would be to Mr. Paul Key. I would highly recommend him to anyone seeking legal counsel, and am thankful everyday that he was there for me when I needed help.

This past summer I was charged with assault by my ex-wife. I was notified of this through a citation I received in the mail. This charge was brought against me during the time my ex-wife and I were going through the divorce.
Being that I have no criminal record, nor have I ever been arrested, this charge was very unsettling to me. I needed to start my search for a defense attorney. I conducted this search and found many lawyers and testimonials soliciting their services. This too was overwhelming....how do I know which lawyer to hire and defend me? I was impressed with the reviews and information I found on Paul Key. I hired Paul without a recommendation from anyone.
I called Paul on the phone and explained to him my situation. He then offered to meet me on a Saturday in his office to start the process. We met that day and multiple times after that in preparation for my court date. Any time I needed to talk with Paul he provided me his availability and we scheduled to meet. He never canceled a meeting with me nor did I ever feel rushed while meeting with him. In fact, one of our meetings was hours in length. He listened to me and provided a lot of great information, possibilities and recommendations in handling my case. I was encouraged by his knowledge, experience, and confidence.
My court date arrived. Paul went to the courthouse and represented me in my absence. My presence was not required. Thirty minutes after my scheduled time, I receive a text message from Paul saying my case was dismissed and “it’s over”. These were words I had been waiting to hear for months! Along with the text was a picture of the document signed by the judge showing the dismissal. What an instant feeling of joy and relief. As I told him, it felt like my birthday 6 times over. I was innocent of the charge and happy the prosecuting attorney and judge saw that I was. Paul was instrumental in helping my charge be dismissed.
Paul immediately sent me a follow-up text shortly after asking if I could talk. As we talked, he remained informative and explained all the necessary next steps.
A lot of my future was pending on this assault charge. I needed someone to really represent me during this very emotional time.
I would hire Paul again and appreciated his genuine professionalism!

Paul Key is definitely the lawyer to call when you're between a rock and a hard place. I was involved in an incident where an angry motorist pulled up beside me in the parking lot and brandished his weapon at me. I drew mine in response. He drove off, while I was on the phone with 911. The police came and said he said he drew his weapon in self defense, and of course, because I'm a younger guy, they were siding with him. They told me either one of us would be charged or both of us - I had a CHL, by the way. All the other attorneys told me to wait to find out who would be charged. Paul Key was the only one who was proactive and argued on my behalf. They decided not to press charges against me.
Shortly after that, an acquaintance of mine called CPS on me, because of this incident. I complained to the wrong person, I guess. Anyway, CPS showed up at my door. They wanted to do unannounced visits, even though there was no evidence of abuse or neglect. We called Paul Key. He contacted CPS and told them not to show up at our house anymore unless they had a warrant or could prove that our child was being abused or neglected. The result: no visits and a letter from them stating that they were closing the case.

I had an outstanding case from 2007. I was unaware of the charges against me and had not lived in Texas in over 5 years. As soon as I found out about the charges I hired an attorney to represent me. I had to go off of reviews such as the one I am giving. He immediately helped me, informed me of what the next steps were going to be and assured me everything was going to be okay. He started working on my case that night and kept me informed each step of the way. He did all he said he was going to do and more. I felt as if he had my best interest in mind every step of the way. He was extremely professional and a great attorney. He was also more than fair in what he charged. This case was settled quickly and I am happy with the outcome.

Had a DWI. No way I was going to win. I was really drunk and there was just no way out of it. Mr. Key got my report and video. We watched it together and he explained potential defenses and likelihood of winning. There was no way I was going to "win" but I think he got me was a win. I could have gotten probation but after comparing probation to the short jail sentence I went with that. Saved me a lot of money and time. I checked at the jail and was done in just a little over 24 hours. It went exactly like he said. No classes, no community service, no monthly fees. I know I screwed up. I don't even drink that much normally. Jail's not a fun place to be but it was better than being on probation for a year and taking off work all of the time.

My wife accused me of assault right before she filed for divorce. I didn't know what to do. I didn't assault her. Not ever. I told the police what happened that night but they didn't believe me. They just took her word for it without any evidence. I called Paul Key. I got his name from a friend of mine who said he was good. First we talked about it on the phone and then I met with him at his office. You can just tell by talking to him that he knows his stuff. He did everything he said he'd do and it went just like he predicted. They were trying to get a protective order against me too, but he got that judge to postpone that case while we fought the assault. I didn't even know what a big deal the protective order was but Mr. Key explained that it looks awful on your record. We didn't even wait for our first court date for the assault. Mr. Key took me up there and we immediately set it for a jury trial. I'm 6'3" and weigh about 250. Paul Key must be all of 5'4" but I felt like I had my big brother in that court room. He stood up to those DAs and he tore that cop up and practically made him admit that he didn't do any investigation and just took her word for it. He lit into my wife on that stand I can't even explain it. I've never felt so vindicated in my life. There must have been about 8 DA's in the court room watching the trial. You could tell that they wanted to win bad. It took that jury about 5 minutes to come back not guilty. The other DA even dropped the protective order after that. After that Mr. Key got my record cleared. There is no more record anywhere of my arrest. Like it never happened.
