About Me

I am currently an in-house attorney with Devon Energy Corporation where I focus on transactional matters in Devon’s Onshore Exploration and Production Division. Previously, I was associated with the civil litigation boutique firm of Curnutt & Hafer, L.L.P. There, my practice focused on oil and gas matters, commercial litigation, insurance disputes, and personal injury cases.

My oil and gas experience includes representing clients in cases involving royalty and surface-use disputes, operator duties, drill-site accidents, pipeline and easement matters, contract and lease disputes, pooling, and title matters. I have also represented a wide array of commercial clients in franchise disputes, collection matters, breach of contract cases, and insurance disputes. In addition, I have represented clients in negligence cases, ranging from defending a commercial client in a work-site suit, to asserting a plaintiff's rights in a serious personal injury matter. I also have significant appellate experience, having briefed appeals in Texas state courts, as well as both the Fifth and Eighth Circuit Courts of Appeals.

Prior to becoming an attorney, I enjoyed a successful career in the Telecommunications Industry, working for three of the largest telecommunications companies in the world, namely MCI, GTE, and Sprint. Most notably, I was responsible for managing a product line of Internet Services with a revenue stream in excess of $1 Billion, and was named a "Distinguished Contributor" for outstanding service with Sprint in 1999.

I am licensed to practice law in all state courts of Mississippi, Tennessee, and Texas, but I am presently only practicing in Texas.
