About Me

Jimmy D. Long, Jr., J. D., is now in his third decade of providing individuals, families, and business owners with innovative strategies for tax, estate, business, and retirement planning, asset protection, and long-term care. Jimmy helps his clients identify and correct the hidden financial land mines that can destroy a lifetime of assets by exposing those assets to unnecessary and avoidable risk, income tax, capital gains tax, gift tax, and estate tax. He also helps his clients avoid the loss of assets due to long term care and nursing home costs.

In additional to retirees and pre-retirees, Jimmy also devotes a large part of his practice to helping clients who are just starting out. Families with young children are particularly vulnerable in the event a parent was to die. And, clients just starting a new business need experienced guidance to make sure that business gives them the freedom and satisfaction they desire.

Jimmy's years of experience can help ensure that assets are protected, retirement income is guaranteed, unnecessary taxes are avoided, long term care costs are covered, and the next generation is provided with a significant financial legacy while avoiding an unexpected tax liability and months or years of headaches and probate fees often encountered when settling an estate.

Jimmy D. Long, Jr., J. D. earned his Bachelor's Degree from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, and his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the Loyola University College of Law in New Orleans, Louisiana. He did post-doctoral work in tax law at Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Jimmy is the Founder and President of the Law Office Jimmy D. Long, Jr., L. L. C. He is a Board Certified Specialist in Estate Planning and Administration.

Over the course of his long career, he has authored, co-authored, or edited numerous books and articles, and is a frequent instructor of continuing education courses for attorneys, accountants and financial advisors.

Jimmy and his wife Mary live in Natchitoches with their three daughters, where they are active in their church and community.
