Mr. Spencer offers practical insights that help his business clients better manage their workplaces with respect to both employment law and employee benefits matters. James advises business clients on federal and state laws affecting employers, including FLSA, ADA, FMLA, USERRA, COBRA, ERISA, and Section 409A of the Internal Revenue Code. He also drafts employee handbooks and policies, executive contracts of employment, and nonqualified deferred compensation arrangements.
Prior to joining the firm, he served as in-house counsel for a national non-profit corporation and was in private practice. His responsibilities included employment law, contracts, litigation, and negotiations.
