- Graduated in 1994 from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri, with a Bachelor of Arts in English with minors in Business Administration, History & Political Science.

- Graduated in 1997 from University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law, with a Juris Doctorate. After successfully passing the bar exam, was sworn in as member of the Missouri Bar in 1997.
