Mr. Hawkins is disorganized and very difficult to communicate with. Setting up an estate was challenging, and once set up he never returned phone calls, emails, or messages (for weeks) to assist in funding the estate. Our frustration began at the initial intake where he did not listen to the client (who requested a living will rather than a living trust) and actually pushed a trust rather than living will. He graciously accepted this mistake in follow-up and made written and verbal commitments to follow through on the trust. However, once the trust documents were signed we received no return phone calls, emails, or messages to assist with funding the trust. Once we did reach him via phone he made excuses for lack of communication, but did not answer questions, provide assistance, or set up a later time to handle these clients' needs. It appears we are now being punished for his initial mistake. Or, he is unprofessional and negligent in all cases? For these reasons, we would suggest to avoid Mr. Hawkins for estate planning (and possibly all legal issues) at all cost.
