Jordan Anthony Fifield

Jordan maintains an Of Counsel association with the Firm while enjoying retirement.  He remains a valuable asset to all Kavanagh attorneys with his vast experience and institutional memory.

Jordan received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Knox College, Galesburg, Illinois, in 1953, and his Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School, Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1958.  After serving as an Infantry Lieutenant in the United States Army, Jordan began his law practice in Peoria.  In 1967 he joined with colleague Boyd Goldsworthy to form Goldsworthy & Fifield, where he practiced for the next thirty years.  After the death of his partner, Jordan joined the Kavanagh firm in 1997.  He maintained an active practice until 2009, when he began reducing his client load and moving toward retirement.

During his career, Jordan successfully represented a variety of clients in trial and appellate practice, including insurance companies, insureds, banks and various public entities, as well as estate planning, trust and probate work.  His bar admissions include the State of Illinois, U.S. Court of Appeals 7th Circuit, and U.S. District Court in the Central and Northern Districts of Illinois.  

An active member and past president of the Peoria County Bar Association, Jordan was recognized as one of the association’s “Pillars of the Bar” in 2010.  He was also a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the American Bar Association.

Jordan and his wife, Nancy, have resided in Peoria for fifty years and have raised three children there.  He has been active in community affairs and on the board of directors of various civic groups.
