    recommend "Chuck"

On Nov 8th I found myself needing a lawyer in a county I'm not familiar with..after searching the Internet I decided to call "Chuck" and can say I'm very happy with my decision. I contacted the office first thing on Nov 10th about my situation and Chuck and his staff was right on checking out the whole thing. They were in contact withe me every step of the way, he is very knowledgeable and they tried to keep me relaxed and let them deal with it. On Nov. 12th, I was notified my case was taken care of and I wouldn't need to attend court in December. To my relief I didn't need to stress for a month! I would recommend Chuck and his staff to anyone.. he is very thorough, knowledgeable, understanding and will keep you updated on the process.

Very persuasive for the benefit of the state.

Charles was a very informative and personal guy. He did a great job explaining the potential outcomes and possibilities of my case, but was very persuasive as to what I should do regarding the case. I understand that taking a plea can benefit your final outcome when the case is strong, but a large majority of my case was subjective and easy to be argued. During my final time meeting with Charles, I asked to delay the trial in order to have more time to decide what my final decision or action would be but I was strongly persuaded to take the plea to have the case completed. The compensation was outrageous since I intended to take the case to trial, but received no assistance from him that I could not have completed on my own.

Charles Gregory Schierer’s response: “This is a comment from Charles Schierer, the attorney being reviewed. As this is an anonymous review, I can't respond with any specificity. I have no idea who posted this. But I can provide some general commentary about myself and my practice. What I can say with certainty is that as a trial attorney, there is nothing I enjoy more than actually taking a case to trial. The trials I get to do each year inevitably prove to be the most fun I have as a legal professional. If it was up to me, and the risk to my clients did not increase considerably as a result of going to trial, I would try every case. The reality is that most of the time taking a case to trial is a huge risk for the client, especially if I've been able to negotiate a great deal for them. Almost every case is "easy to be argued." One of the skills of a great trial attorney is his ability to fashion a reasonable argument for almost any set of facts. But, that doesn't mean a particular case is "easy to be won." Winnability can only be evaluated by a person who has handled hundreds of criminal cases, worked with local juries, worked under local judges, and battled against local state's attorneys. If I determined that a particular case should not proceed to trial, it's because I concluded, with my 15 years of legal advocacy in the back of my head, that the case, while arguable, was not likely "winnable." And I concluded that the risk of losing was not worth the client taking given whatever offer we had on the table. That is me doing my job...giving the advice the client hired me to give. My job is to get each of my clients the best possible legal outcome; not to tell them what they want to hear so they will like me despite the fact that such advice may put them at great risk. Nonetheless, I do not make decisions on behalf of my clients. My clients are the captains of their own ships. I have taken many a case to trial against my recommendation, even cases with multiple counts of first-degree murder. The decision on what to do always remains in the hands of the client. Unfortunately, contrary to popular belief, clients do not have all the time in the world to make decisions about their cases. Deals do not remain on the table for indefinite periods of time. The State's Attorney can typically withdraw an offer if it has not been accepted within a reasonable period of time. Defendants often run a great risk of losing a good plea by asking to have a case repeatedly continued. If I advised a client to accept a plea without further continuing the matter, it's likely because I believed the offer I had negotiated on the client’s behalf would be withdrawn if we did not accept it. And I did not want the client to take that risk. Again, that is me doing my job...giving the advice the client hired me to give. My job is to get each of my clients the best possible legal outcome; not to tell them what they want to hear so they will like me despite the fact that such advice may put them at great risk. My office is complimented every week for being extremely responsive to clients. Our entire staff is dedicated to keeping people regularly informed. Thus, I do not believe that the three star rating for responsiveness could possibly be a reflection of reality. Additionally, I know with certainty that our fees are VERY reasonable for the area. Criminal cases often proceed on a flat fee basis which means one fee is paid regardless of how the case proceeds...the lawyer takes a risk by knowing he may have to spend great amounts of time preparing if the case goes to trial; the client takes a risk by knowing he may pay more for services if his case ends up pleading out. We work hard to maintain reasonable fees for every scenario. I constantly strive to represent my clients to the best of my ability. I also strive to provide great customer service. I take pride in the services my firm offers. The outcome of each client’s case matters a great deal to me.”

    Professional and reliable legal defense

Attorney Charles Schierer is a very professional and dedicated lawyer. This lawyer not only is trustworthy but truly cared about my son's case. On very short notice, he reviewed the case along with Attorney Ritchie. A strategy was developed with the knowledge of dealing with a very complex legal situation that could have resulted in a lengthy prison sentence in this case. Attorney Schierer made his presentation of the case with key individuals in conference and later secured my son's release. His follow up after the case made me feel like i made the right choice in selecting this attorney. This lawyer and the entire law firm took the lead in ensuring justice was done. Superior staff at this firm!!!!!

    Diligence and Integrity

Charles Schierer is an excellent attorney and I would recommend him to anyone searching for legal representation. Since my first consultation with Charles I felt confident that I had a highly skilled, efficient, and compassionate attorney. I felt the entire time that my case was of the utmost importance to him and that he was committed to giving me his best. I was never made to feel like I was just a number or that my case was of minor significance to Charles and his staff. Charles Schierer and his associates were superb throughout the process and I hope to work with them again should I ever need legal assistance in the future.

Attorney Schierer is a lawyer you can trust. He will fight for your case to the end!

Attorney Schierer deeply cares about his clients. When I first contacted him on a Saturday late night, he called me back early Sunday and gave me advice and possible consequences about our situation without asking for any money which did not happen with the other lawyers I called before him. He is always kind and deeply cares about his clients and his cases. He fights for your better outcome and always stays in communication with you. He keep his promises and he takes every case very personal as I was able to observed him taking care of other cases as well. I will 100 % recommend Attorney Schierer and his law firm.

Integrity, Honesty, Compassion, Confidence which comes from Experience, Hire Attorney Schierer!

Integrity, Honesty, Compassion, Confidence which comes from Experience, all qualities that Attorney Schierer possesses. I highly recommend hiring Attorney Schierer. I do not make these recommendations lightly, as I have worked with other lawyers in the past and feel they did not have many, if any, of these qualities. I am late posting this review because I have been spending quality time with my children because of Attorney Schierer's competence in and out of the court room! He took on my case with confidence and I felt like I was his only client. He was prompt and thorough with all communication, which is so important when dealing with the courts. I honestly, have only wonderful things to say about Chuck and again, highly recommend hiring him and putting him to work for you, you will not be disappointed!

    Excellent federal defense lawyer

Mr. Schierer is an excellent attorney. He handled my case (felony drug) for a year, and my final results were very favorable. If there is one thing that makes Charles stand out from other lawyers it is that he genuinely cares about his clients. He went above and beyond in defending me, and made me feel confident about my case. Although I live outside of his local area, he went out of his way to meet with me and work on various aspects of my defense. I could not have asked more from him, and i would highly recommend him to a family member or friend.
