Kevin Chern is President of Total Attorneys, a Chicago-based national provider of legal practice management technology and law firm marketing services and is considered a pioneer in online legal marketing. Since 2009, he successfully negotiated and, in some circumstances, litigated to advance the propriety of pay-per-lead marketing in the legal vertical. Prior to joining Total Attorneys in 2005, he was Managing Partner of one of the largest consumer law firms in the country, with offices in 70 markets, 180 employees, signing over 500 new clients per week, where he was one of the first to put technology to effective use in both the delivery and marketing of legal services. Kevin has been an architect or a significant contributor to four enterprise level case management systems including the Total Attorneys web-based case management platform with its ground breaking app platform.
Chern has written and spoken extensively on law practice management, technology and legal marketing, including frequent contributions to a number of ABA publications. He has been inducted into the Chicago Area Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame, and was included in the inaugural Fastcase 50, which recognized “law’s smartest, most courageous innovators, techies, visionaries and leaders.” While President of Total Attorneys, the company was named twice to the Inc. 500 list for America’s Fastest Growing Private Companies and was #2 of Chicago Crain’s Fast 50.
Chern earned his J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law in 1993 and his B.S. in Psychology, cum laude, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1990.
