In the process of starting a new business, I realized that I needed to incorporate trusts to hold certain assets from the sale of my last business. My will was out of date and Bill was thoughtful enough to ask whether it needed refreshing. I had spoken with a local estate planning attorney who was not as creative or thorough, did not recognize several of the issues which Bill brought up, and was too busy to explain why he made the structure suggestions that he did. I'm glad I called Bill, and was lucky to find that he understands liability protection offered in the various states in which I will be doing business.
In addition to giving me a path to protect my assets, he was able to advise me on the various tax ramifications of using a limited liability company rather than a subchapter S corporation which would have been a disaster for me I if I had followed the other attorney's advice.

I last retained Mr. Marutzky in March of this year to assist me with tax problems that I was facing. I retained Mr. Marutzky in light of the fact that he has represented me off and on for the past six years for similar tax issues. His knowledge of the tax code is tremendous. In retaining Mr. Marutzky I have been able to take advantage of several tax reducing benefits that I did not know existed. Because of the ease of which I was able to work with Mr. Marutzky I will be able to retain him for any future problems I may have with any state or federal taxes.

Bill is a no nonsense tax attorney and got to the heart of my issues and meticulously laid out a plan for dealing with the IRS in the most efficient way. Before being referred to Bill, I was working with another tax lawyer who seemed more interested in telling me how great he was and then having me fill out form after form and then charging me for it. Dealing with the IRS is very stressful. Bill assured me I was not the only person with the issues I had and calmed me down and always gave me a light at the end of the tunnel. Finally, Bill's ethics are of the highest caliber. He made sure everything was properly and truthfully disclosed - the only way I know how to do things, myself. When seeking a referral for a tax attorney, I had heard horror stories about some others in the field. Bill came highly recommended from a well-credentialed member of the State Bar's tax law committee. Without hesitation, I would use him again - I hope I never have to - and I would, without hesitation, recommend him to anyone in need of "the best" tax attorney in the State. When he was done with my matter, he also referred me to a top-notch accountant who he feels was just the right one for me to make sure I didn't need his help again.

Bill Marutzky has not only a wealth of knowledge, but is also extremely intelligent, and knows the system inside and out. Bill is highly respected among other attorneys, and many times they come to him for advice and then hire him. He treats his clients with such care, as if they were his own family member. One could not ask for better representation.

Mr. Marutzky represented me some 21 years ago. My move from IL prompted sorting through
documents, that is keepers and those to dispose. Mr. Marutzky did a marvelous job, in and out of the
courtroom; to include his preparation of the appeal phase. Needless to say, we (he) won the case
involving a firearm. Mr. Marutzky disarmed the prosecution as well as the judge. Upon learning that I
was a disabled Viet Nam Era Veteran his fee was non-existent. This is a "lawyer worth his weight in
gold." I can't say enough without getting "mushy", however in a pecuniary, mercenary world, Mr.
Marutzky loves the law and his first love is its practice. Thanks is a word used much too often,
however, no other word comes to mind.

Marutsky is a most knowledgable and skillful lawyer and tax accountant. When another was out of his league for a situation I needed help with, he recommended Marutsky, who handled it perfectly. I continue to find his work both timely and smartly done.

Claims to be very knowledgeable, yet never gets anything done. Charges for not getting anything done AND charges $450 per hour to bill you for his time. That's right, instead of having a secretary or assistant do the billing, he does it himself and charges you lawyers fees for it too! I should have fired him immediately after he lost some of our paperwork, for which he billed us his time to tell us that he didn't have it. He burned through a large retainer in 1.5 months with nothing to show for it. What he did I could have done it myself. AND his communication was HORRIBLE. I would ask a question by email and he would reply but not answer the question. He would give very precise instructions then come back and say he needed something else. Save your money and look elsewhere for legal assistance.
