My brother passed away in 2011 and his wife of 35 years did not have legal residency. During their marriage my brother and his wife had attempted to gain legal residency for her multiple times.

We contacted and retained Mr. Hanus based on his credentials, location, web video and initial consult.

Throughout the application process Mr. Hanus was professional and knowledgeable. His assistance was invaluable in successfully resolving my sister-in-law's thirty five year old residency problems which in turn eased the resolution of her estate and financial problems.

Richard Hanus has helped me out in the past and I have recommended to him to family friends. He is very efficient with his work and had great communication with my husband and I. He took care of all the mailings for us and whenever we emailed him or called him he was able to help. We started the process close to November of 2010 and last month (March 2011) my husband received his Permanent Residence card. He had great communication with us and as soon as we received a notification from the Immigration services, we received a letter from him with a copy of the progress. Great Lawyer

Richard handled my case long time ago. He has done an excellent job. After that, I had him handle my wife's case, and my 2 brothers. I referred few friends to him, and all praise his work, work ethic and competency.

I have known Mr. Hanus for over 10 years. I have used his services for my H1-B, my permanent residence, and finally for my citizenship application. Throughout the years I have recommended many friends to him and heard nothing but praise about his professionalism. My last interaction with him was for my citizenship application. He asked for one flat fee for his service until I receive my citizenship. During the process, I have moved out of the state of Illinois, and my case was assigned to the Detroit office. Mr. Hanus continued to follow up regardless of where my case was. He kept his promise of sticking with me until the end. The process got delayed, I called him once to inquire about what to do regarding the delay and found that he was way ahead of me and already filed an official request for an update about my case. He has sent many correspondence to the state and the local agent handling my case. I was always updated and assured by him personally. I was never charged for the extra work he had to do to get my case resolved. He was very proactive throughout the whole process. I sincerely believe that without his services and expertise I would still be struggling to get my citizenship.

Richard is an Expert on Immigration Law. He handled our I 485 immigration case very efficiently. He helped us in getting our Green Cards from USCIS.

My case was an EB2 Employment based petition with spouse and kids as beneficiaries. When I approached Richard in 2007 I was under lot of stress. He filed our I485 petition and followed it up till they were approved. Within the parameters of US Immigration Law Richard creatively resolved all complexities related to the case resulting in approval of our petition.

His fees are reasonable. He did not bill us for anything else during the process other than the initially agreed fee. He and his staff are very professional and courteous, He appeared on our behalf for an interview at the USCIS office. We are all very happy and satisfied with the way he dealt with our case.

Mr. Hanus handled my father's case for his eb-2 employment visa. inconsistencies in the paper work for the application were cited by the USCIS for the denial of the I-140. These inconsistencies, mind you, could have easily been corrected before finalizing any submissions. very disappointing that these little corrections should have been rectified before making any submissions in haste. It makes me wonder if Mr. Hanus even reviews these paper work before submitting them or he just lets his paralegal do all the work. Considering that the error was made on his part, Mr Hanus even wants to charge my father an exhorbitantly high legal fee for the appeal. Whats worse, when I brought up this issue with him, he threatened to drop my father's case at a very crticial time in his appeal proceess. Very unethical.. and I would not recommend to anyone

My wife and I had a new born daughter last May. Since both of us work full time, we had her mom come from China to help us with the baby. We applied for visa extension for my mother-in-law when her visa got close to be expired but, for some strange reason, her application was denied and she was asked to leave the country immediately. In desperation, we were looking for an immigration lawyer for help. Mr. Hanus was recommended by one of friends. We visited Mr. Hanus at her Chicago office around middle December, 2010. Within 5 minutes, we walked out of his office with happy faces and confidence. He told us that there is no need to worry about the rejection letter to my mother-in-law's visa extension and she should get her green card as early as April, 2011. We just received the green card on April 6th. What I was impressed the most by Mr. Hanus is his no-nonsense style and very efficient professional work. You send him an email for help he would return your email within 5 minutes! You do not find this kind of professionals easily nowadays. I visited Mr. Hanus’s office for a consult about my immigration case, and my first impression was that Mr. Hanus has a poor knowledge about the area of student visas and F1 status. I paid a fee for a lawyer who stated that he manages immigration matters; but he absolutely did not know how to manage matters in this area. I remembered he got an immigration book and started looking for answers. That situation did not upset me. I was upset for his unethical, sarcastic and unfriendly remarks about my case. Mr. Hanus is a very honest and reliable attorney. He gave my husband and I straight forward advice, and was always responsive to our phone calls and inquiries.

This lawyer didn't help us at all. The "advice" we got was very poor, leading us to many problems. During our interview with the immigration we started finding lot's of errors ("Typos" mostly). Every time my wife interacted with this individual she started crying (no joke here). Well... we ended up needing an Affidavit of Support after the interview... So... he called my mom in my behalf... In my moms words he was a "Jerk". My wife's employment authorization was way overdue.... he knew it, and still took two weeks to follow up with the immigration (After 4 months we applied). The results couldn't be any worst... We failed our interview. Many thousands of dollars for NOTHING. I do not recommend this lawyer and will help others to stay away from his poor "advices". We felt very humiliated.
