"Dhenu first came to this country when she was 10 years old from India. Like many immigrants, she saw her parents struggle in this country to provide the best opportunities for their children. She is passionate about helping immigrants achieve their potential, as well as experienced in helping businesses hire international talent with minimal hassles.
Prior to starting her own practice, Dhenu worked at a nonprofit where she assisted low-income immigrants with their complex immigration matters. She has also worked in law firms with both individuals and businesses. Dhenu is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers’ Association (AILA), Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA), and Chicago Bar Association (CBA). She is also on the Board of the AILA New Members Division. Among her accomplishments, she has delivered a speech on the new law, 204(l) of the Immigration and Nationality Act in front of the AILA Chicago Chapter monthly attorney meeting, and she has been published in the Illinois State Bar Journal on the same topic. She recently delivered a seminar at the Chicago Bar Association (CBA) to educate fellow attorneys on topics related to immigration law.
She is also active in the community and volunteers with the Indo-American Center in Chicago’s monthly legal clinic, and delivers free seminars on important immigration topics from time to time.
Dhenu got her Bachelors of Arts degree in Philosophy and Child Development from Tufts University in Medford, MA, and her Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. She is licensed to practice law by the Supreme Court of Illinois.
Dhenu speaks many languages, including Hindi (Urdu), Gujarati, Kachchhi, and Spanish."
