It is possible recommendations may be made and further deadlines set. Without knowing more details of your case, it is impossible to answer with any more detail.

    Judy’s Answer

Assuming you are not protected by the union contract your employer has the right to hire anyone and place an employee on any shift assignment and at any wage rate unless you can show that your employer discriminated against you based upon your age and/or race, You have little if any recourse other than to seek a shift reassignment or a payraise. That is not to say you will be approved for either.

  • US citizen planning to marry a Brazilian in Brazil. Will our marriage be recognized when coming back to the US?

Are there any steps we need to take to ensure it is recognized in Brazil? Will my spouse have to file any visa forms when arriving in the US?

    Judy’s Answer

If your marriage is valid under Brazilian law, it will be recognized there. If your Brazilian marriage is valid, it will be recognized and deemed valid in the United States for consideration of immigration status and other purposes. You should speak in person to an attorney who handles immigration matters for further details and advice.

It is very possible your consultation would be free and you would receive advice and guidance geared toward your particular circumstances.

  • If a corporation was dissolved in 2014 and was sued in 2015, can the judgment creditor collect?

I buy judgments from people. A buisness was awarded a judgment from a corporation less than a month ago. Litigation began in April of 2015. Upon researching the judgment, i found the corporation was involuntarily dissolved in 2014. My question is...

    Judy’s Answer

Whether you are able to collect a judgment from a now defunct business organization depends upon whether you are able to collect from the underlying owners or incorporators. Not enough facts are presented here to respond with certainty. Under the circumstances, you would be best served by discussing your situation with a business law or collections attorney.

  • I have an unpaid Possession of Marijuana fine can it get extended.

I have got an extension twice but i was out of work. I just started back working i get paid Friday but I have court Thursday. Can they extend it for a day I don't want to go jail I'm finally working again.

    Judy’s Answer

Unless you go to court and ask for more time, the judge will not know that you need another day. See what you can do about borrowing the money on a temporary basis and pay back your friend or your credit card as soon as you are paid b otherwise go to court and hope that the judge is willing to give you a brief continuance. If you are paid Friday you will not be able to come to court on Friday with money.

    Judy’s Answer

Not appearing in court will make your situation far worse. Speak to several criminal and Defense attorneys and higher the one you like the best unless you are already represented by counsel. Your attorney will help you take care of the warrant from your prior case as well as address your present situation. Do not skip court!

    Judy’s Answer

The very best advice anyone could give you would be hire a lawyer and stop talking about your situation online or anywhere else in public or in private except with an attorney. The disposition of your case will depend upon the charges and other factors. You need a lawyer not an online Q&A forum.
