Lindsay was very good about only communicating when necessary so as not to run up my legal bill. Overall she knew the process very well and was extremely sensitive to my concerns throughout. She took the time to give me reassurance on the phone and helped me through the crazy parts. She worked very hard on my case to ensure the best possible outcome for me, my children. and my ex spouse so that everyone can come out better in the end. Lindsay also worked very well with the opposing counsel to negotiate a good settlement agreement for both parties. I believe that Lindsay knows many of the DuPage county judges and attorneys so she is able to work well with them to get the job done. We were finalized in 6 months.
Lindsay is very easy to talk , she explain issue and made sure I understood what was going on. Lindsay also did not waste my time in taking time off of work going into the office. Lindsay is efficient in getting the information.
Lindsay did a great job with my divorce and help make things clear and understandable during a difficult time
Ms.stella helped me through an extremely difficult divorce. She quickly obtained a restraining order, filed for divorce, and obtained child support for my children. The actual finalization of the divorce took a very long time, at no fault of her. She filed all petitions and did her best to keep me informed of what was going on. She can be difficult to get a hold of at times because she is very busy. Other attorneys in the firm will step up to assist as needed and all questions do get answered. Ms.Stella will take the time to explain legalese in common terms when needed. I highly recommend her to handle contentious divorce/custody cases.
My husband and I had only been married a little over a year when Lindsay was assigned to my case by Lynn Mirabella. The case moved quickly because I was on a deadline to close on my own home. We had a "prove up" at the time she had told me in the beginning. She made the divorce process as easy as it could have been. I appreciate her help and I would recommend her.
Ms. Stella was an extremely knowledgeable attorney and assisted me with a difficult custody matter. She was supportive and attentive to my needs in court. She moved quickly through the courts and got things done for me. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a smart and honest attorney. She has a large caseload so she is sometimes unavailable but this must just means that she has alot of clients.
I am in the process of filing a complaint with the ARDC (Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission) against Lindsay Stella. I hired her to handle my divorce case, and she ended up sending all correspondence to my husbands' residence, making him privy to details of conversations I had with her in confidence as well as motions she was preparing to file. She failed to advise me of two cancelled court dates and one cancelled meeting, forcing me to take off work on three seperate occasions.
Over the corse of 5 months, despite her claims that she was "filing the motion next week", she failed to obtain a restraining order or get a child support order. Ms. Stella practiced gross negligence in my case, and luckily I fired her before she was able to destroy my case any further. Ms. Stella appeared at court on my behalf on one occastion only, and I was charged a total of $7500.00. Included in all of the correspondence that she sent to my ex-husbands address, were the invoices causing me to have no knowledge that she had racked up such an inflated bill. Included in some of the charges were "checking my calander" and "consulting with another attorney regarding restraining order laws".
I attempted to call her boss, Mr. Joseph Mirabella leaving messages and even sending a letter regarding my concerns to no avail. He never so much as called me back. My recommendation would be not to deal with this unethical law practice. I have 3 attorneys in my family, one being a State Representative in IL and I have never experienced such an unethical lawyer/law firm.
I would not recommend Lindsay Stella or the Law firm Mirabella and Kincaid to anyone.
*The only happy ending in this case was once I fired Ms. Stella, I was able to obtain child support and custody by representing myself.
