A founding member and managing partner of the firm, Dominic heads our litigation practice, handling both criminal and civil cases. Dominic started his legal career in 2008 as an intern at the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, Criminal Appeals Division, and quickly accelerated his prosecutorial career when he was appointed as a full time Assistant State’s Attorney at the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office in 2010. While representing the People of the State of Illinois as an Assistant State’s Attorney, Dominic worked in the traffic, misdemeanor trial, felony review, and felony trial divisions, trying fifty (50) cases to verdict before judge or jury.
In addition to handling criminal trial work, Dominic has further honed his litigation skills by actively representing clients in the civil arena, including matters related to: Commercial Litigation, Estate Planning, Family Law, Real Estate, Foreclosure Defense, and Business Formation.
Dominic is uniquely qualified to handle a variety of legal disputes and strives to approach every case in a bold, aggressive, innovative, and no-nonsense fashion. He makes it his mission to hold his opponents to their burden, whether it is proof beyond a reasonable doubt in a criminal case or proof by a preponderance of the evidence involving a civil dispute.
Dominic hails from a family of attorneys, including his two sisters, Angela Buttitta and Dominique Buttitta, who practice law in Chicago in the areas of Family Law and Real Estate respectively. For Dominic and his family, practicing law isn’t just a career, it’s a way of life.
