About me

Emily joined Williams Divorce & Family Law in 2012 after working as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Marilyn J. Kaman in Hennepin County. Her work for Judge Kaman focused on felony criminal matters. Prior to working in Hennepin County, Emily worked for over a year as law clerk for the Honorable Joseph F. Chase in Olmsted County. As Judge Chase's law clerk, Emily researched legal issues and wrote memoranda on civil and family law matters. She also reviewed pro se dissolution petitions and mediated conciliation court settlement conferences.

Emily is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Law School where she focused her studies on family law and civil litigation. Emily won the Book Award for Reproductive Rights her second year and for Alternative Dispute Resolution her third year. During and after law school, Emily had the privilege of working with Professor Judith T. Younger on a variety of family law related issues. While working with Professor Younger, Emily developed particular interest in Assisted Reproductive Technologies, GLBT issues, and adoption.

During law school, Emily was a summer associate for Axley Brynelson, LLP in Madison, WI. Emily also worked for five years at Law & Politics and Super Lawyers magazines.
