Ryan Garry is a Minneapolis Criminal Defense Attorney, certified by the Minnesota State Bar Association, and has developed a reputation as an accomplished trial attorney. Less than 1% of criminal defense attorneys in Minnesota have achieved this certification.
Ryan has acquitted clients in cases ranging from DWI, to a national interest First Amendment victory, to five “not guilty” jury verdicts in the last two years. He recently acquitted an innocent person charged with Felony Third Degree Assault, obtained a complete jury acquittal for a client charged with Felony Domestic Assault Strangulation, and exonerated a nurse practitioner in a high profile Aiding First Degree Murder case in Hennepin County. Ryan practices in state and federal court, and has recently litigated a variety of federal cases ranging from mail fraud, wire fraud, bank fraud, witness tampering, bank robbery, and tax evasion. Within the last couple of years he has litigated, to verdict, jury trials ranging from Felony Strangulation, Assaulting a Police Officer, Federal Bank Robbery, First Degree Assault, Felony Domestic Assault, and Federal Conspiracy to Distribute a Controlled Substance. Ryan also handles appellate issues, and has argued before the Minnesota Court of Appeals on a homicide case.
The vast majority of Ryan’s clients are referred from other lawyers, prosecutors who have litigated against him in trial, former presiding judges, and past clients. Ryan frequently represents lawyers, doctors, police officers, and other professionals accused of crimes. He is often sought out on high profile cases where the stakes are high.
Ryan is a board member of the Minnesota Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the editor The Challenger magazine. He is also a board member of the Minnesota State Bar Association (MSBA) and a frequent speaker at Minnesota Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminars. Ryan has been named a Rising Star “Super Lawyer” in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013, and in 2014 was named a “Super Lawyer.”

In working with Mr. Garry I came to appreciate how he not only greatly understands the nuances of the justice system, but is quite savvy about how to assemble the facts and themes that will win a jury trial. I would recommend him without hesitation for anyone in need of a legal services.
