Jim was my parents lawyer for many years. He was a great help to them as they moved from being on their own, to needing help, and finally he was there to help us through both of theirs passings. He was always able to answer our questions in a maner that we could understand. This was sometimes a challenge with my 80 year old mother, but Jim was patient and reassuring to her. He always gave us clear and concise answers, but did not talk down to her or us. His information was good and helped us make the decisions we needed to make. He guided us along the way, he did not tell us what he wanted us to do.
His services always seemed fairly priced.

Sale of business

I was terminated from a job in 1997 with what I thought was a fairly cut and dry employment contract. My employer was not going to honor the money that was owed to me so I went to an attorney recommended to me as the best employment specialist in Minneapolis. After spending 10 minutes with me he told me he wouldn't take my case with a 90% contingency fee and that my contract wasn't worth the paper on which it was printed. I walked out of his office dejected as I was told he was the best. I then decided to meet with Jim who has been a family friend for years and see if he had a differing opinion. After five minutes, Jim said he was confident he could help. Having minimal correspondance with my former employer, Jim was able to recoup over 80% of what was owed to me. Jim is a very trustworthy and effective attorney.
