Jessica J. Zerbst, the managing shareholder of Zerbst & Kluck, S.C., came to Madison, Wisconsin from Michigan, upon her acceptance to the University of Wisconsin Law School, and she has made Madison her home ever since. Her legal skills are complimented by her undergraduate business administration degree, with an emphasis in accounting, from Michigan Technological University, where she graduated summa cum laude. While there as a student, she gained extensive practical accounting and tax skills while working in the Internal Auditing Department at MichiganTechnological University. She also worked at the State of Michigan Auditor's Office and in the tax department at the prestigious accounting firm of PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
While at the University of Wisconsin Law School, she interned for a mid-sized Madison law firm, which then hired her as an associate attorney. It was there she realized the great value to her clients of employing her skills in accounting and tax to assist with difficult and complicated asset and debt allocations that so often accompany divorce. This began her focus into family law, which is currently her primary area of practice.
With her extensive education and experience, in combination with personal interest and enthusiasm for family and business law, Jessica effectively focuses her legal practice on providing superior legal representation and services for individuals having family law matters, and individuals and businesses with their transactional business and real estate needs.
If Jessica could help every client resolve their divorce issues without resorting to litigation, she would do this, as she has found the best results for everyone is where there is a settlement agreement that is fair and equitable. But, unfortunately, both sides are not always reasonable, and as a result, sometimes a traditional divorce, involving litigation is more appropriate in some cases. When that is the case, Jessica enjoys representing clients in contested hearings and trials with appropriate levels of enthusiasm, while also doing the homework and knowing the law.
These areas require a broad understanding of complex valuation and tax consequences, in addition to legal knowledge and trial skills in order to be an effective advocate for her clients.
Jessica does her best to provide compassionate, cost-effective, efficient legal respresentation, and she asks her clients to look at the future and how today's agreements are going to affect their future, their spouse's future, and the future of their children. Good co-parenting and low conflict custody and placement divorces for usually in the best interest of children, both during and after the divorce.

Are you an attorney? Endorse this lawyer
I very strongly endorse Jessica Zerbst as an excellent family law attorney for many reasons, and even recommend her to my own brother, who she continues to represent. With her strong background and degree in accounting and exposure to business and real estate law, she is highly capable of addressing the complex financial issues the come up in many divorces, especially when there is business and real estate ownership involved. You can count on Jessica to do her homework and be prepared to represent you effectively against any attorney in Dane County, and surrounding counties too. Complex and contentious case are her specialty. I believe you will find her very competent and responsive, and feel you were very well represented.
