About Me

Kristin A. Leaf (maiden name: Hodorowski) has had a wide range of litigation experiences in the areas of criminal defense, civil and criminal appeals, civil litigation, wrongful death actions, minor settlements, personal injury, guardianship, paternity, and family law.  Kristin also has experience in transactional matters, in reviewing and negotiating contractual agreements, prenuptial and marital property agreements, and lease agreements.

Kristin understands the stress and emotional strain that often accompanies litigation and always treats her clients with respect and compassion.  Attorneys Kristin Leaf and Frank Schiro work together as a litigation team and are extremely committed to obtaining the best possible results for clients.  In 2011, Kristin and Frank celebrated the Wisconsin Supreme Court’s reversal of their client’s 2008 criminal conviction, following their commitment to thoughtful preparation and hard work at every level of a very long road of litigation and appeals.  (See State v. Gonzalez, 2011 WI 83.)

Kristin was born in Menomonee Falls, raised in Mequon, and has lived most of her adult life in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  Kristin received her bachelor’s degree in 2004 from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where she majored in philosophy, was a member of the UWM Dance Team, National Ski Patroller, and volunteer paralegal at the University Legal Clinic.

Kristin worked as a law clerk with the Law Office of Frank Joseph Schiro, Ltd. during the summers of 2004, 2005 and 2006.  Kristin was admitted to the bar and began working as an associate attorney with the Law Office of Frank Joseph Schiro, Ltd. in 2008.

Kristin received her J.D. from the William Mitchell College of Law in Saint Paul, Minnesota, where she served as the founding president of the WMCL Golf Club.  After graduation, Kristin served as law clerk to Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Paul R. Van Grunsven.

Kristin’s “away from the office” hobbies include boating, gardening, remodeling her home, and golfing.
