Practicing in the area of family law, Jeanne M. Hannah has maintained her own solo practice since 1987, concentrating in the areas of parental kidnapping, divorce, child custody, support, cohabitation, and parentage issues, primarily in northern Michigan, although the Internet brings clients from around the country and abroad. As a consultant on Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act matters, she has assisted lawyers in many states with recovery of children in international and interstate parental abduction cases. She also assists clients and consults with lawyers around the country with interstate jurisdictional issues. She has authored chapters in several ICLE books, "Michigan Basic Practice Handbook" (6th ed), "Advising the Older Client or Client with a Disability" (4th ed), and "Michigan Family Law" (7th ed). A member of the Family Law and Elder Law and Disability Rights Sections of the State Bar of Michigan and the Family Law Section of the American Bar Association, Ms. Hannah speaks often at Family Law Section conferences and contributes regularly to the section's Internet discussion group.
