I was arrested for an OWI September 2015 and was terrified. The next day I immediately began looking for a lawyer. With Mike's impressive track record in these cases and outstanding reviews, I knew I had to contact him. The first person I spoke with at his office was Chasity. She was a GEM! Instantly reassuring me that Mike and the entire team at Springstead Bartish & Borgula were exactly who I needed in my corner. After discussing the details of my case, she said Mike would contact me, and within 10 minutes he had. I set up an initial meeting at his office and it was smooth sailing from there. Mike and Chasity walked me through every step of the process from plea to pretrial to sentencing. Answering every question I had (and there were a lot) along the way. They always made me feel like a priority, and I always knew I had someone in my corner fighting for my best interest.
I could not be happier with the results of my case. Mike was able to get a plea deal in which I was given 3 months probation. and 90 days of a restricted license. Of course, there were considerable costs for fines and court fees along the way---but I could not have asked for a better outcome!
I cannot thank Mike and Chasity enough for all their hard work and urge you to contact them immediately if you find yourself in my situation.
After seven months of hard work, Mike was able to have some nasty felony charges against me dropped. Mike was willing to call, text, and/or email me at all hours to keep me updated and to answer my questions.
One thing that really surprised me was how Mike accurately predicted how each step in the legal process was going to play out, from one court kicking my case to the next court, to when my case was going to get dropped, etc.
I would also like to acknowledge and thank Chasity, Mike's legal assistant, who showed great compassion for me and my family.
Thank you for helping me and my family get our lives back, Mike!!
I retained Michael Bartish for an accused domestic violence charge. I lost custody of my daughter immediately without being able to state my case. It was by far the worst thing that has ever happened to me. Michael and his staff moved quickly. I got my daughter back before the first pretrial and my case was eventually dropped.
Michael and his staff are an effective mixture of professionalism, accessability and compassion. If you are new to the legal system, it is a frightening situation. Mr. Bartish is confident and intelligent. He knows the legal system and guided me through it. Chasity is also wonderful. She handled some of my most difficult moments with kindness and compassion.
Do not try to defend yourself. Mr Bartish is well worth every dime. There were no hidden costs, he did not charge extra for questions or phone calls. Throughout the worst time in my life the best thing I ever did was call Mike. I will be forever greatful for what he did for our family.
Mike Bartish was there for me when my teenage son got himself in trouble. After talking to me, he spoke with my son and then the police. Mike quickly assessed the situation and thoroughly explained the options to us. His expert advice helped us make the right decision.
One of the things that really impressed me was how accessible Mike made himself. As this was a first offense situation, I was caught off guard, worried about the impact to my minor son, and was very unsure of what to do. Mike reassured me and told me to call him with any questions. He kept me informed and called me numerous times throughout the day. While in the end, the charges against my son were dropped, had we needed to hire an attorney, Mike Bartish had the job. If you need an attorney, I highly recommend you give him a call.
I just want anyone searching for a great lawyer, Michael is the real deal. My legal matters were explained clearly... Not sugar coated. Michael and his team defended me well... I am blessed that my outcome was better than I ever expected. Thanks , Michael
On another note... Super cool wardrobe: great socks ! Hire this team.
Because of a number of factors, the odd thing is that I never actually hired Mr. Bartish, I simply spoke with him on the phone for a consultation. He was clear, frank and upfront about his fees, as well as possible outcomes. When he learned the particulars of my situation, he was kind enough to tell me, A: Exactly how to handle it and, B: That I did not need a lawyer to do so. WHAT ATTORNEY DOES THIS? It was obvious from that moment on that he had my best interests at heart. He gave his time, pro bono, to answer my questions, and give me peace of mind at a time I had none.
I am not out of the legal woods yet, and sincerely hope that I do not need his services going forward but, if I do, I am confident that they would be worth every penny he bills.

Last February I was falsely accused of an assault and battery by a woman I had briefly dated. It was a he says/she says situation, and despite the fact that I had text messages and phone records proving she had fabricated the accusations out of revenge, the police took her word over mine and assault/battery charges were brought. I had never been in any legal trouble before, and in searching online for defense attorneys in the Grand Rapids area, sought out Mike Bartish based on the many positive reviews I read. I can say that Mike exceeded my expectations. He was very easy to talk to and his staff was very friendly and easy to reach whenever I had questions. Being my first time in any type of legal trouble, I had no clue what to expect, and Mike's expertise and knowledge of the legal process gave me comfort throughout the process. In the final weeks before jury trial, the prosecution offered me several plea deals which I turned down. What I really admired about Mike is the professionalism and integrity he demonstrated. While you might expect a defense attorney to pressure you to take a plea deal simply to get the case off his desk and not have to do any more work, Mike, having reviewed the evidence in my case, both believed in me and never pressured me to take a plea deal, even the day before trial when the prosecution offered me a very attractive plea deal. The day before trial, and just hours after I rejected the prosecution's final plea deal, the prosecution dropped the charges. Although this was a painful ordeal, I am very grateful to have had Mike's representation and expertise in navigating this scary and difficult process. I firmly believe that Mike's diligent work and willingness to stay the course in my defense played a large part in the prosecution's decision to drop the charges before trial.

First off I would like to say that driving under the influence is a crime that is inexcusable, and I have four offenses.
I first contacted Michael after doing extensive research on good DUI attorneys. In the past every lawyer I retained seem to have the " take money and run" status quo, so I researched to find a GOOD AND HONEST lawyer. I was on felony probation for 3rd offense DUI, and during my term of probation I eventually made the same idiotic decision to drink and drive, I was pulled over and charged with my fourth offense DUI. I will not go into details but as an habitual felon on Felony probation the odds were against me, I was almost certain that I was going to go to prison ( Not jail) for an extensive period of time. I contacted mike to get an honest opinion about my situation. Mike was very optimistic that I would not go to prison. By having been burnt by so many lawyers, I was thinking mike was just telling me what I wanted to hear to get my money and run. I WAS WRONG!! Mike told me what to expect and what he expected me to do. To sum up the story Mike got me a very short stay in jail, (even shorter than the amount of time we both expected). There are good attorneys out there, and I can honestly say that Mike is one of them. I can now focus on my sobriety in the comfort of my own home, in the presence of my wonderful family. Thank you again Mike, God gave another chance and I plan to take full advantage of it. I recommend Mike to any and everybody.
He is not overrated I believe he deserves 10 stars.

I retained Michael to assist me with a traffic violation I received that was a misdemeanor offense (expired license). Michael was extremely responsive and was able to get the case dismissed by the prosecutor because of a grace period in the licensure law that extended the expiration date of my license. I could not have been more satisfied with the outcome and Michael's knowledge of the law. I would recommend Michael to my closest family and friends.
