After graduating from Harvard Law School I developed a specialy working with distressed businesses as well as assisting people and businesses with serious tax issues.
About twelve years ago I purchased a third of my brothers' law firm and added bankruptcy to my practice. Although I had assisted clients with several bankruptcy matters in the mid to late 1990s; since around 2001, I have enjoyed being one of the main attorneys in the southwest Michigan area able to successfully assist clients with complex business and tax debt concerns.
With family connections in farming (I loaded many hay wagons when dating my wife), I've also enjoyed a significant number of successful farm reorganizations. I love working with farmers and their unique situations. The bankruptcy provisions for farmers are highly specialized and require significant experience to fully utilize them.
My clients would say that I put a high degree of personal energy and care into my debt workout projects, bankruptcy and non-bankruptcy alike. My practice is more of a ministry than a job. Nothing makes be feel better than hearing a client report my assitance allowed them to finally get some rest.

I met Kerry when we were getting ready to take the Bar exam in Michigan many years ago. He is a Harvard graduate. It was obvious that he was very smart. He is also a great guy and has proven to be a top attorney in his field. I have to say, he would be my 1st choice if I needed help in his area of law. Sam Silverman
