Patrick received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University as a Political Science major. Patrick earned his Juris Doctor degree at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.
As a law student Patrick worked as an intern for the State Appellate Defender's Office where he worked in the sentencing unit. He was able to successfully reduce sentences for many of his clients.
In the Summer of 2007, Patrick opened his own law practice and spent most of his first year taking court appointed criminal defense cases in the Metro Detroit Area, particularity at the 36th District Court in Detroit, and Frank Murphy Hall of Justice. In the summer of 2011 Patrick partnered with Jim Scarletta and formed Scarletta O’Reilly, PLLC.
