I empower my clients to resolve their disputes and keep conflict at a miniumum during this traumatic time when they are reconfiguring their families.
My goal is to make each client satisfied that the best possible outcome was reached, using the most appropriate process for their situation. I believe that understanding, effective communication and compassion can create a path for resolution.
My professional activities reflect my commitment to conflict resolution without going to court, whenever possible. I have authored a textbook, "Divorce Cases in Michigan; A Systems Approach" for the Institute for Continuing Legal Education. I lecture frequently for ICLE and serve on their Family Law Advisory Board.
I am a founding member and vice president of the Collaborative Practice Institute of Michigan. I participate in the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals, the Association for Conflict Resolution and The Association of Family and Conciliation Courts.
I am a Super Lawyer and a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. I serve as treasurer of the AAML - Michigan chapter. I am AV rated by Martindale Hubbell.
I am past president of the Ypsilanti Rotary Club, a Paul Harris Fellow and was named Lawyer of the Year in 2000 by the Ann Arbor North Rotary.
