    Urinating in Public

I was ticked for Urinating in Public in Ann Arbor. It was a pretty embarrassing ticket. I go to find out that it can result in a misdemeanor and potentially being registered as a sex offender. I contacted him and he responded right away with a game plan to get the offenses dismissed. within a few weeks, we were able to get it cleared off my record and reduced to a fine that was a fraction of the costs. I would highly recommend him to anyone. he was very responsive. An hour or two would not go by and i would already get a response to my question (email).

    Representation for Retail Fraud

I am extremely satisfied with my interaction and representation from Mr. Paul. He was very responsive when I first reached out to him and when we met I was scared, ashamed and lost. He listened, he was concerned and he was knowledgeable. This interaction had an immediate positive impact on my morale.
His approach holds his client accountable and he expects that you will take responsibility for the things that you can control. This is extremely important for the outcome. When he laid out the plan, I followed it to the letter. Not only did this help my case to be completely DISMISSED, it also helped me to get to the origin of why I found myself in trouble. Now I am working on solving those issues so I do not find myself in this place again.

    MIP Experience and Outcome

As the parent of a teenager, receiving a phone from your 17 year that they have been written up for an MIP is not something you are at all prepared for. After contacting Jonathan Paul via text message/e-mail, his response was immediate and his availability was literally 24/7. Jonathan and his colleagues were straight forward and forthright about the process and provided thorough answers to every question we had. There are a lot of "what if's" in situations like this, and following his program is critical. The program that Jonathan placed our daughter on required her to embrace the potential of the consequences and make efforts to achieve the best outcome possible. We followed every instruction and request that was made by Jonathan and took his advice seriously as the expert that he is. As a result, our daughter had a very positive outcome, one that I know would not have been possible without the expert guidance of Jonathan Paul and the team from Kelly & Kelly. As much as we do not want to see our children make poor choices that ultimately get them in trouble, it was reassuring to know that there are experts like Jonathan available that can guide you through a very unsettling process that can negatively affect your child's future. If you do find yourself in the same position we did as parents, do not hesitate to give Jonathan a call. It will be the best call, and investment, that you will make.

Helped get fake ID charge reduced

My son was caught using a fake ID while out of state visiting friends. I was not aware of the seriousness of this charge until discussing this with my local attorney, who recommended I contact Jonathan. Jonathan recommended some proactive steps that convinced the prosecutor that we were serious about this charge, which was reduced to something that will not permanently impact my son's record.

Jon helped me get something off of my record quickly and painlessly.

Listen....this guy went the extra 10 miles to make me feel calm and reassured that my record would be clear of a charge that was literally keeping me from getting a job in my field off of my record. I am 110% satisfied.

Couldn't have asked for a better lawyer

Anytime you have to contact a lawyer, obviously you're in trouble. Jonathan not only was an amazing lawyer, but he gave me pro-active steps to help my case. In the end, due to his advice, I got the lightest sentence for the case I was being tried for.
An amazing lawyer, and a great guy who actually seems to care about his clients. I can't recommend him highly enough.

Discharged Two Charges of Retail Fraud

Jonathan managed to get two charges of second degree retail fraud dropped - a task that I assumed was impossible, and would be for most lawyers.

I could not have picked a better lawyer in terms of professionalism and the ability to get what needs to be done completed.

There is a "no BS" mentality when dealing with Jonathan that is hard to come across. He simply knows what needs to be done and helps you get there.

If you want the best, clear, helpful solution to getting a legal issue solved, then look no further! Simply not a question if you are serious about your future.

Jonathan save my life from being charged of domestic violence

I was being accused of domestic violence. I am not a U.S citizen and just found a new job in the U.S. Any immigrant, if any crime convicted, will face the serious immigration issue including the possibility of being deported. It is a very serious moment in my life. I found Jonathan and contacted him on a Sunday night. He replied me very quickly and professionally in only 5 minutes. Although I did not meet him in person at the moment, I felt he is very trustworthy so I decided to cooperate with him. The result is awesome - my case was finally dismissed after our comprehensive plan was put in place. I can stay in the U.S, start my new job and have no legal issue anymore - it's just like nothing happened. I really appreciate his help.

    JOHNATHAN IS AMAZING!!!

I got arrested for an OWI (Operating While Intoxicated) in Ypsilanti in January of 2015. I went online and found Kelly & Kelly and emailed Jonathan about my situation and he emailed me back not even 10 minutes later saying he could help me. Jonathan immediately gave me a program to follow which consisted of AA meetings, 50 hours of community service, and attending a MADD meeting (Mothers Against Drunk Driving). I did exactly what Jonathan recommended I do. Before I went to court he had recommended I take a Substance Abuse Assessment, in which I also did. Jonathan said we were going to plead to the lower charge of Driving While Visibly Intoxicated and try to keep my license from day one. Jonathan met with me about a week before my court date and told me exactly what was going to happen at court, and what the judge was going to say, and he told me to act confident and not nervous. This helped ALOT knowing what to expect. On my court date Michael Kelly came with me because Jonathan had an emergency felony case, but Jonathan made sure I was in good hands. Michael Kelly was also amazing and had a great statement to the judge about how I did AA meetings, community service, a MADD meeting, and a substance abuse assessment. I walked out of the court room with the lower charge of Driving While Visibly Impaired, only a restricted license, and NO PROBATION!!! Michael said he has never had a case where someone charged with drunk driving has no probation at all so that was amazing. These two were extremely helpful, confident, and comforting along the way and helped make this awful experience a much better one. If you are smart enough to hire either of these guys make sure you DO EXACTLY WHAT THEY TELL YOU AND FOLLOW THE PROGRAM THEY GIVE YOU!!!

My son faced marijuana possession charges

In March 2015, my 19 year old son called me because he had gotten into trouble. While out of town for dinner in Novi, he turned right at a red light (which was prohibited). He was pulled over and the police officer asked if he had marijuana. He was truthful that he and his girlfriend did indeed have a small amount. They were arrested for possession, his car was impounded and they stayed in jail until they could be bailed out. Neither had been in trouble like this before and they were scared. Fearing that a conviction would result in a drug charge on his record, I sought an attorney who would be able to help him take responsibility for his actions but that his punishment not follow him for the rest of his life. I contacted a couple different attorneys who looked like they had a successful history defending cases like this. As I understood it, Oakland county is very strict in these situations. Ultimately, my husband, son and I felt like Jonathan met our needs. We liked his proactive approach. His approach was very beneficial for my son as well. He was able to grow as a person during the process and had learned a very valuable life lesson about one of the consequences of drugs. When they finally went to court, after meeting with a probation officer for his sentencing suggestions, the outcome was very successful. My son is on probation for 9 months, drug tests every other Monday, and ten hours of community service. Most importantly, there was dismissal of drug charges, a factor which could prevent him from obtaining employment or renting a apartment, etc in the future. Our family is very thankful we hired a proven lawyer who had our son's best interest in mind. He didn't just want to get him out of trouble, but wanted to make sure he learned a lesson and grew as a person. I would definitely recommend Jonathan Paul!
