About me

Mr. Stoops focuses his practice on complex business litigation including such areas as breach of contract, business torts, trade secrets, automotive supplier disputes, intellectual property, and employment litigation. He went into law because he enjoys the intellectual challenge that results from an ever evolving legal landscape.  Since becoming a lawyer, he’s learned just how important his work is to every one of his clients.  “It’s not often that you find a profession where the outcome of your work can – and often does – have a profound impact on the life of your client and his or her family.”  Kevin has three children, Kevin Jr., Donavin and Dominick and he coaches their sports teams, although, to his chagrin, his coaching efforts do not often have a profound impact on the final outcome of the games.

Mr. Stoops is an exemplary attorney that I would not hesitate to refer to anyone and everyone. He provides excellent and informed answers here on Avvo. I have been a judge, magistrate, prosecutor, law professor, and private attorney over the past 24 years and I still regularly learn new aspects about the law from his answers.

I endorse this lawyer's work. Kevin clerked for one of the longest-serving judges in Oakland County when he was finishing law school. He quickly rose to partner-status at his current firm. I've had the experience of litigating a very tough case with Kevin on the other side. Kevin made things happen; he got things done that ultimately helped resolve the matter prior to trial. As a result, his client was well served. Mine was too for that matter. Litigation is rarely the way to go. When you find yourself in court, however, you can count on Kevin Stoops to guide you through the tough process of litigation. He knows his way around the courtroom. I highly recommend Kevin for the courtroom.
